Physical Description: Artie had always been small for his age. When he stood next to kids at yard time, they typically towered over him. While most boys his age stood around 4'8(142.24 cm), Artie stood at around 4'4(133.3 cm). Artie doesn't like that he isn't as tall as others; in fact, most of the time, he wishes that he were taller so that kids in his school would pick on him less. He has wavy, light blonde hair that rests on the back of his neck, nearish to his shoulders. His eyes are dark green in color. Artie loves to play outdoors, so even in the English weather, during the summer months, he has a light tan shade to his skin. However, something that also comes with loving the outdoors is falling, something that the clumsy boy is prone to. He has scars all over his knees from taking tumbles to the ground as a child. They don't hurt, and they don't bother him; they're just memories.

Mental Description: Artie is a strange child. He never really had any friends and was never social with others. He prefers to be quiet and keep to himself. It's better than getting teased, isn't it? He prefers to keep to himself, reading, studying, rather than being pushed into a group project where he was constantly teased. However, it is only around his peers that he is ever silent. With his older sister, along with his parents, he is a constant chatterbox. He likes to talk about what he does, why he does it, what he's interested in, that sort of thing. Some of his peers might describe him as weird, others quirky.

Biography: George and Enid Kempston weren't young parents to say the least. They were 33 when they had Artie's sister, Imogen, and 35 when Artie was born. His childhood was simple. He went to school, went home, and read. He liked reading; in fact, he owned so many books that they typically covered his floor. He got along well with his sister, her being his only real friend. Whenever he wasn't reading or doing his schoolwork, he was spending his time with her. They liked to spend time outside together, talking, learning about their lives. She was also his biggest defender, sticking up for him at school, telling children off who were cruel. She wasn't magical, but she was a hero.

First Instance of Magic: Artie's first instance of magic was on school grounds. He was 10, being bullied, relentlessly pushed around by a group of boys bigger and older than him. He was mad, fuming. The boy who was the leader of the group stood in front of him, a boy who had been bullying him for years. The boy was wearing a brand new hat that he had gotten for his birthday, as Artie glared at him, the boy's hat lit ablaze suddenly. Artie stumbled back as the boy threw the hat to the ground. Running as far away from him as they could.
