Physical Description:
Artemia is a short (120cm) pale skinned young girl, with periodic freckles scattered throughout her body including a light cluster across the bridge of her nose. Her hair curls in loose, dark brown waves down to the middle of her back with a thick, straight fringe across her forehead. Her eyes are almond shaped and are pale jade green-grey with small flecks of amber, giving them a more hazel appearance in warm light. They sit thinly hooded in her rounded face that has yet to lose its baby-fat.

Mental Description: Artemia is an intelligent young girl that tends to keep to herself. She doesn't like the limelight of being the first to answer a question, even if she might have the answer. She tends to overthink her responses and can come off as quite guarded and stiff to others. Her humor tends to be a bit drier and sarcastic, however she is extremely empathetic to others. She dislikes seeing a problem unsolved, especially if it is harming others, and tends to come up with plans to right perceived injustices. She enjoys praise and takes pride in her accomplishments, but is just as likely to credit others with her success and take personal responsibility for failures. Artemia always strives for more and looks to better herself beyond the typical bar. She has struggled to make friends growing up that did not try to take advantage of her and is wary of people trying to get close.

Biography: Artemia is a half-blood, having been born to a wizard father (Michael Hare) and a muggle mother (Hope Hare nee Whitaker). However, due to her mother's struggle with illness and her father's constant work to provide money for treatments, she was raised primarily by her paternal wizarding parents, Edward Hare and Gail Hare. Edward and Gail doted upon their grandaughter and ensured she had access to a good education, both mundane and magical. However, her father having been the youngest of their six children, they are both getting older and unable to care for the quickly growing girl. So with her tenth birthday also came the news that she would move back with her parents. At first, Artemia was overjoyed to get the chance to meet her parents and have a new life outside of the small wizarding village she had called home. However, the city proved to be less thrilling than she had hoped. She was relgated to a small bedroom in the couple's two bedroom flat in which her father had the larger room and her mother had taken to sleeping on the couch. The area they lived in was crowded and impoverished, making Artemia more prone to hide in her room then roam the city streets. The budding relationship with her parents turned out just as tumultuous. Her mother was clingy and tried to force Artemia into mundane activities such as TV and sweet eating so they would have more in common to bond over. Her father on the other hand was overworked and had little patience for anything Artemia wanted to do that didn't get food on the table or make his life easier. So when she got her Hogwarts letter Artemia was relieved to have a reason to get away from home and hopefully learn a way to make her life better.

First Instance of Magic: Artemia was watched for signs of her magic at a young age. Her grandparents were unsure that the young girl would end up a witch with her mother being muggle and so for the early years of her life, they tried to keep things around the girl mundane enough that magic would stand out or if none arrived she wouldn't be overly disappointed. It was much to their fear and delight that when not long after she reached her 3rd birthday, a stumble that would have sent her careening down the second story stairs and shattered against the landing, instead found her bouncing down as if made of rubber. Once she reached the bottom unharmed she rushed into her grandmother's arms and sobbed heavily vowing not to try the stairs alone again until they said she was ready. It took some time for her crying to end and once it did her grandparents began to explain the world of magic to her and her woe turned into a thirst for knowledge about everything magical.
