Physical Description: Ada Smith is 4'10" (147cm) tall. She has pinkish pale skin, cool brown eyes, and shoulder-length light brown hair. It seems like it may be wavy if it were to grow longer, but comes across more straight with a puff at the end at its current length.
Mental Description: Ada is a rule-following stickler. She takes school and the rules that come with it quite seriously, and she isn't afraid to correct others who take them more liberally. Obviously, this means she can come across as a know-it-all. But she also has a strong sense of right and wrong, and she can feel down or frustrated if she feels like she's not meeting expectations.
Biography: Ada is the only daughter in a family of six. She is also the middle child, with two older and two younger brothers. Her parents have a standard age gap, but atypically her mother is the elder by six years. Both parents have two brothers, so the only female influence in Ada's life is from her mother, Bobbie. Understandably, Ada is much more direct and rough-and-tumble than the average girl her age. She has always been a high achiever, feeling the expectation of her parents as their only daughter. Her older brothers Alexander and Stanford are seventh and fourth years respectively. Her birthday is November 14.
First Instance of Magic: Ada is a pure-blood, so her family knew to look out for any signs of magic from the young witch. Still, it took them a while to realize that it was her unintentionally willing her school supplies to color coordinate--and not that they had simply bought her the supplies that way. Ada herself grew up using a number of magical items and didn't realize she was the one causing the non-magical items to change either. This was around when Ada was eight years old, so a bit later than the average magical child. They figure it must be because Ada's magic was more about "making things right" than responding strongly to an emotional impulse.
