Physical Description:
Mahdi stands with an unnatural stillness sharpened over years of patience on the hunt; and moves with the fluid grace of a hunter trying very hard to pretend they're just part of the flock. He has a thick beard, and framed around a thin, contemplative line for a mouth.

Mental Description:
Mahdi is an odd man. Quiet in his words, but loud in his actions; his hyper-vigilance a shade too close to paranoia for comfort. Though he is in a “retirement”, his duties as caretaker as a form of meditation, his past life has not quite left him, and old habits die hard. He is trying to trade the wand and hunting for the broom and a bucket, though the transition is clearly a struggle.

Biography:
Born and brought up in England, Mahdi made a career hunting monsters in the deserts of the Middle East: both monsters that run on two legs and those that do not. After years out in the field, this is Mahdi's retirement to a quiet, peaceful life.

First Instance of Magic:
It happened in Northern London when he was but nine years old. He was out with his father setting up a charity event for Ramadan when something happened. Perhaps it was faulty heating, some malfunction in the building, or poor repairs, but a rusted iron pipe bursting from the wall, falling towards the crowd below. In that split second, instinct took over for Mahdi. He didn't scream or lose his head, but reached out a hand, his fingers spreading instinctively; without any rational thought or cognizance. Instantly, the pipe froze in mid-air.
A moment passed. Then another. Then Mahdi finally blinked, and the pipe fell harmlessly to the floor.
