Physical Description: Cinder has light skin, covered with freckles from spending lots of time in the sun. Her hair is long, wavy, and bright ginger, and she has extremely dark blue eyes. She wears an eyepatch over her right eye, covering a big scar, and she has a small scar down the side of her neck, from an accident after with a dragon when she was younger. The scars don't bother her much, except from when it is wet, or extremely cold.
Mental Description: Cinder is extremely friendly, and happy to talk to anyone. She can be quite annoying, as she often talks non-stop about dragons, but she is well-meaning.
Biography: Marie Blaze, who was a massive dragon enthusiast, lived in a small apartment in central London, with her husband, Michael Blaze. During their marriage, they had two children, called Spark and Flame.
However, the year that Spark turned 18, Michael died as, while he was casting “Incendio”, to light the fire in the living room of their flat, he lost concentration, causing the spell to hit the gas pipes for the house, setting the flat on fire.
When Spark was 22 and Flame was 16, Spark got married to another wizard called Thomas, a half-blood who she knew from her time at Hogwarts.
Then, the year that Flame turned 18, Marie got offered an amazing opportunity: a job in a family-run dragon sanctuary in rural southern France. Marie was going to move there herself, however, Spark and Flame didn’t want their beloved mother to live by herself, in a completely different country, so the whole family (Marie, Spark and Thomas, Flame) moved to the sanctuary, where in a few years, Marie ended up running the business.
Then, a few years later, Flame became pregnant, however no-one knew who the father was. When Cinder was born Flame unfortunately died in childbirth, so Cinder was brought up by Marie, Spark and Thomas.
As Cinder grew up, she was desperate to help around the sanctuary, however she was always told that she had to wait until she was older, which, although it annoyed her, she learnt to accept it.
She never really missed her mum, as she'd never got to meet her, but she also often wondered who her father was, as she wanted to know whether he was alive or not.
Her father was actually one of the pure-blooded families who lived in the village, who Flame had met while doing errands around the village. He never knew that Cinder was his daughter, as, while Flame was pregnant, she’d stayed in the dragon sanctuary.
Despite this, she’d never wanted to leave the dragon farm to go and find him, because she loved living with her grandma, aunt and uncle, and she wanted to run the sanctuary at some point when she was an adult.
Cinder was extremely excited to get to go to Beauxbatons, because the rest of her family had all gone to Hogwarts, because of living in England. She was looking forwards to going as she could tell her family all about it, in return for their stories of Hogwarts, and magical lives in England.
First Instance of Magic:
When Cinder was ten, she was desperate to help out with one of the dragons, and, while her Grandma, Marie, was cooking lunch, Cinder snuck out of the house, to see one of the biggest dragons, and, in her excitement, she stood much closer to the fence than she knew she should.
Seeing a bucket of meat next to the enclosure, left there so that her Grandma could feed it later, she excitedly thought that if she fed a dragon, she could spend more time watching them, even though she knew that she wasn't allowed to be close to them.
Cinder threw a piece of meat into the pen, which hit the dragon right on the face. The dragon was extremely angry, and came right up to the fence. Cinder was frozen in shock, and the dragon reached out it's claw to Cinder, and scratched over her face.
Cinder screamed, and finally manged to move backwards while red sparks appeared in the air.
Her grandma, Marie, saw the sparks, and heard the scream, so ran towards the enclosure, where she managed to calm down the dragon, and heal Cinder.
She left a few scars on Cinder's face, as she knew that if Cinder wasn't constantly reminded of the consequences of breaking the rules, she would break them time after time, where she could possibly get injured even more. However, Marie did make sure that the cuts were healed enough that they wouldn't interfere with Cinder's daily life.
