Physical Description: Caleb is African-Japanese, about chin-length black dreadlocks and dark brown eyes. He’s around the average height and weight for a twelve-year-old, and his eyes are almost always unfocused and bloodshot.

Mental Description: Caleb is socially withdrawn and quiet, but once people get to know him he’s generally kind and a little funny, if he’s in the mood. But the main thing that keeps Caleb’s ego down is his Nightmare Disorder, which practically owns his life. He has recurring nightmares, sleep terrors and nighttime hallucinations about monsters he created. This has been happening for almost a year now, still pretty new. But his nighttime episodes are also having an impact on his days; he’s scared of pretty much everything, he’s always tired, he hallucinates sometimes from lack of sleep (since he’s scared of sleep), and he’s not as coordinated as he used to be.

Biography: Caleb’s mom was a witch. The second she told Caleb’s dad, he left her without even getting a divorce. It was when Caleb was three; he still vaguely remembers a bald man walking out the door with no words. But that was actually a moment to celebrate, Caleb’s mom told him when he was older. His dad was a “not nice man who did not nice things”. So growing up, it was just Caleb and his mom, who was the only person in the world Caleb had. Everyone else bullied him, because he was just that type of kid. Because of this, Caleb stopped socializing and kept to himself.
Caleb got into drawing and story writing as a hobby. But at the age of eight, Caleb was writing very gruesome stories and drawing terrifying monsters that drained the color out of his mom’s face when she saw.
“Why don’t you write about something happy?” She suggested, which was almost laughable. Caleb would achieve absolutely nothing from writing about ‘something happy’. Writing and drawing what he did didn’t make him happy either, but made him feel at ease.
It was three years later of drawing the five horrifying same monsters and writing stories about them when it actually started to become scary to Caleb. He would see them in his nightmares, see them right when he woke up, or hear them right before he feel asleep. As he was asleep, all five senses could be accounted for, plus the sixth one. He didn’t have normal nightmares by any circumstances. His nightmares environments and assets shifted into things that scared him. They were a mix of his drawings and reality, and he would feel terror until it filled every gap in his body and he couldn’t breathe. He’d feel the weirdest sensations, like something that was satisfying and life-threateningly horrific at the same time.
With time, Caleb stopped drawing. He didn’t sleep. But he still saw them. What his doctor called sleep-deprived hallucinations, he called reality. Of course anyone not going through it would understand.
Caleb got bullied even more, because he became scared of almost everything and jumped at the smallest sounds or movements. This resulted in everyone constantly trying to scare him for fun.
Caleb had been expecting his letter to Hogwarts, and had to admit he was happy when he got it. He hadn’t been happy since the monsters started hunting him. Maybe Hogwarts would offer an escape. Maybe he would make friends. Maybe he would be happy. Right?
Wrong.

First Instance of Magic: At age ten, a bully was picking on Caleb, for the umpteenth time in front of everyone. Caleb was going to smack him, but before he could even raise his hand, some force sent him flying down the hallway. Wonder who did that?
