Vera's vibrant red locks are a fair reminder of her Irish upbringing in a cozy cottage outside of Galway, Ireland. Her father, Silvanus Holloway, a pureblooded British Senior Patrol Officer for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement wed her mother, Saoirse, a half-blooded Irish mediwitch at St. Mungo's following an injury he received on assignment. They settled in Galway to keep their growing family a bit safer from war's impact, though their respective positions have kept them very busy professionally.
Vera is the second eldest of four children, and having three brothers has afforded her plenty of opportunity to become quick-witted, adaptable, and able to dish back banter with a playful, snarky tone. She's exceptionally bright, though impulsive and impatient at times. She tends to be a follower and an easygoing wallflower. While Vera doesn't typically go out of her way to cause trouble, she's usually delighted by those who make mischief and will often go along with others' plans for pranks because they're quite funny. For as easygoing as she is, Vera has never been able to sit idly by when someone or thing is being maliciously mistreated, especially animals.
