Physical Description: Nora is a pale girl with pinkish cheeks, brown eyes and dark curly hair that tends to disappear into wavy chunks as she brushes it. She has a captivating look as her red lips stand out against her pale face framed by her dark locks. Her round eyes are shaped by some long, dark and full eye lashes, also framed by some dark eyebrows which make her brown eyes specially beautiful to look at.

Mental Description: Nora is friendly, kind, generally happy and optimistic, with an artistic vein. When quiet, one could take her for a shy girl, but what she really is is observant, that's all. Always up for an adventure, Nora wants to see the world, learn new things, experiment on what she's learned. To her, things are not supposed to stay in the books. She loves books! She is always reading something. But that is due to her thirst for more. She would never trade an adventure for a book. But whenever she can't go places with her own feet, she will have her nose on a book. Ultimately, Nora is a people person. She will almost always initiate conversations and will never ignore other people around her without a good reason. She has a good heart and cares about people more than anything. She craves human connection as much as she craves adventures. She may be a bit impulsive at times and speak before she thinks. She assumes telling the truth is always the best but can be a bit too honest at times... She's got a lot to learn about herself and others and the power of words. She is a loyal friend and capable of things she is yet to find out. She hates being afraid and will do almost anything to not have to feel that way. Nora prefers a small group of close friends rather than a large group with no close connections, but she'd love to have both whenever possible. If you ever find her alone and quiet, know there's something wrong...

Biography: Nora was born in Edinburgh but she moved to London when she was almost five years old because of a job opportunity her dad decided to pursue. They got back nearly four years later when her parents realized they had been happier living in Edinburgh and regretted having left when they did. Those moves made it hard on Nora because of how painful it was to leave and start over and then do it again.

Her father is a helicopter pilot, clearly the one leaning more towards the adventurous type. Her mother is more grounded, with an interest in nature (and maybe beyond nature...?)she is also an herbalist who runs her own apothecary shop. They both love Nora very much but, at times, seem too absorbed in their own activities leaving her craving attention and connection. She has a couple of siblings, a brother and a sister. Twins. They are now in their teens so they too spend most of their time doing their own things leaving Nora to seek companionship outside of their home.

Although she has friends at school and in her neighborhood, her friendships had not gotten as deep as she wanted them to. A girl who she was growing closer to soon moved away and everybody else seemed to already have their best friends picked from the years prior to her return to Edinburgh. In all, it feels like both at home and outside, she is surrounded by great people she cares about but no one close enough to her heart. Something is definitely missing but she is far from giving up finding it!

First Instance of Magic: Nora had convinced her sister to let her come along to the park where she was going to meet a couple of friends. While her sister waiter, the two of them sat on a bench watching some frogs by the pond as people passed by. Nora had just recently decided she was going to learn how to draw animals and wanted to practice sketching frogs.

She was particularly interested in one funny-looking frog that sat apart from the others. She had just started drawing it when a dog, off its leash, darted towards the pond, barking like a maniac. All the frogs quickly jumped into the water, except for the one Nora was attempting to draw.

Terrified for it, Nora shouted, "Jump, froggy!! JUMP!". Her sister, embarrassed by her noisy reaction, looked around to see if anyone was watching, but the dog owner was nowhere to be seen. It was just the two of them there, the angry dog, and the frozen frog.

As the dog drew closer and the scared frog wouldn't move, Nora jumped up from the bench. Then she took a step forward (despite her sister trying to pull her back), she stretched out her hands out towards the two animals and cried, "JUUUUMP!!!". At that moment, the little frog flew through the air, in an arch that was way higher than a frog could have ever jumped, landing right into the pond, past the other frogs, with a big splash. Her sister, with her mouth open, stared first at the pond, then at Nora, then back to the pond. Finally, she let go of Nora's arm. Nora sat back without making eye contact with her sister. "Did you just...throw that frog into the lake...like...WITH YOUR MIND???", her wide eyes still fixed on the pond. "I...Don't...know...? Maaaybe...?" They both sat quiet for a couple of minutes. Then Nora finally broke the silence. "Should we tell mom...?". Her sister took a deep breath, thought for a few seconds, then responded, "I...Don't...know...? Maaaybe...?"

They both held their legs up on the bench, hiding their mouths behind their arms while staring at the pond where there was now no dog, no frogs, and no explanation about what had just happened.
