Biography: Maeve was born to Henry and Niamh O’Brennan. Her father comes from a long line of pure-bloods, while her mother’s side is half-blood (Maeve's grandfather was Muggle-born). When Henry married Niamh, his parents cut him off for “tainting the family line,” which only made him double down on rejecting blood-status nonsense. Maeve and her two brothers, Liam and Sean, grew up in a home where everyone’s ideas mattered more than their blood. Her father and Liam are Slytherins, like the rest of her father's side. Her mother, on the other hand, is Ravenclaw, just like the rest of her family's side.

First Instance of Magic: Maeve’s first bit of accidental magic happened when she was seven. Her parents had put her in time-out for mouthing off, and she sat there fuming, staring at the clock on the wall. The longer she glared at it, the angrier she got, until the glass suddenly shattered. It was like her anger had physically exploded. Her parents weren’t exactly thrilled, but they couldn’t help being a little impressed.
