Appearance

Kanade is 142 cm tall, pale, with freckles on her face. Her hair is waist-long and curly. It has a white colour. When her older brother was visiting, he used a spell on her and accidentally dyed her hair white, but she didn't dislike the colour and decided to keep it. Her natural hair colour is her European father's platinum blonde. Her eyes are grey like the moon and her eyelashes thick and long, but light in colour.

Personality

Kanade is quiet and prefers to spend her free time alone, studying while others play, not because she is diligent, but because she wants to be the best at everything. The reason for this is that she is very proud and would never let anyone be superior to her. She has a problem with authority figures because of this and can be both well-behaved and rebellious depending on her mood and how much she likes the other person.
This depends on how interesting and unique she finds them, as well as how they treat others. To those she likes, she is very forgiving, which also has to do with her resilience. For example, her half-brother has accidentally set her on fire and turned her hair white, but she loves him despite this because he rebels against his pureblood family and doesn't care about rules or safety, making him interesting to be around.

Biography

Kanade was born in Japan as the illegitimate child of a traditional pureblood family. Her mother had a muggle lover from the United Kingdom, resulting in her birth, and was dishonored and shunned for this. They were both sent to England when Kanade turned five. Her mother works a minor job in the Ministry of Magic, but additionally (and secretly) receives money from Japanese relatives despite her status as a disgrace.
Kanade has four half-siblings. Her oldest brother Homuya is aged 19, her sister Miyuki is 18, her second brother Akio is 15 and her third brother Ryōto is 12. Her siblings are forbidden from seeing her, but her oldest brother visited her and his mother nonetheless when he turned 17, staying in London for one month, and again shortly before her admission to Hogwarts, during which the incident happened in which her hair turned white.
Before being admitted to Hogwarts, Kanade attended a muggle school for one year due to her mother's open-minded view on muggles before switching to homeschooling.

First Instance of Magic

When Kanade was 9, her half-brother Homuya visited her and her mother. While showing off his magic to her, he accidentally set her on fire with an experimental spell. He struggled to extinguish it as its magical properties made it especially hot and immune to typical spells. Kanade started screaming and trying to beat it out with her hands. Her palms didn't stop the flames, but left a coat of ice on the surfaces she hit. When Homuya finally succeeded in using the right spell and extinguished the flames, Kanade was crying, but completely unharmed and partially covered in thin layers of ice. This included her clothing. The wooden floor beneath her was blackened in a wide circle and visibly charred in some places, but the damage was shallow and only the surface layer had burned. The boards were still solid under Kanade and Homuya's feet. A few flakes of wood had crumbled right where Kanade was standing in the center, but it was far from burned through. Homuya was still cautious and carefully stepped on the blackened wood before gathering Kanade into a hug and pulling them both back, away from the center, before searching for injuries, checking if her feet had been burned in the aftermath, but she was wearing slippers that had protected her from the heat. He started apologizing profusely, to which she just responded with: "You made me do magic!"

Relationships

Kanade has a close relationship with her mother, who is very protective of her. She has a job as a translator in the British Ministry of Magic.

Kanade's oldest half-brother Homuya isn't allowed to visit her and their mother, but does it anyway under the premise of travelling for his job as a dragon specialist. Kanade looks up to him due to his chaotic and rebellious personality and sends him owls whenever she can, nagging him to tell her about the perils of his life.
