Ashlyn was born on Christmas Day; Ashlyn has natural ginger hair with blue eyes. She is fair skinned due to her Irish heritage.

She considers herself to be smart, but she suffers from self-doubt. She occasionally thinks she's not good enough.

She lives with her mother, Deidra and father, Charles and two older siblings, Liam and Maeve. She grew up in a relatively nice household. She got along with her mother a lot better than her father as her father was strict and everything needed to be perfect. As for her siblings, she got along really well with both of them although her and her brother Liam would fight constantly when they were younger. Growing up, Ashlyn spent a lot of her time alone. She didn't have many friends as she was pretty much a loner.

Ashlyn's first use of accidental magic wandless magic was one time after getting her hair done. She was mad and upset because she didn't like the haircut she had just gotten. She went from having long hair that went down to her waist to shoulder length hair. Her mother also wanted her to get strawberry-blonde highlight in her hair. Ashlyn hated everything about that look. That night she went to bed crying and when she woke up the next morning, her hair was back to the way it was before. Waist length and no strawberry blonde highlights. Her mom couldn't understand how that happened, but Ashlyn didn't care, she was happy.
