Biography: He grew up with his mother in a quiet cottage near Whitby, quite far from the hustle and bustle of people. His mother used to help people with folk magic or herbs, but lately she has been more withdrawn. He spent most of his time teaching his at home.

First Instance of Magic: when he went to the market with his mother, and a man spoke rudely to his mother. He didn't fight back or make a fuss, but his heart immediately felt tense.
