Physical Description: Majata is a young girl of 11 years old. Her height reaching 4'2 and has long, light brown hair that falls in loose curls to roughly her mid back. After much pleading and promising to not ask for anything else for her birthday. Her parents agreed that her muggle mother would bring her to have purple streaks done at a hairdressing salon. Light blueish purple and a deeper, darker purple streaks were added when she turned 11 in may.

Her eyes seem almost grey, but with a tint of blue to them, once having been a more brighter shade of blue when she was younger that had faded with age. The only record of this being the pictures of her as a baby and her families memories of her as a child. The greyish blue hue of her irises are surrounded by a blueish black ring on the outer edge.

Mental Description: Majata's favortie color is, if her hair and favorite t-shirt were not a dead give away, purple. If she could have everything purple, she would. She is a bubbly, hyper child most of the time. But she does get quiet when she is drawing or reading, two of her favorite solo activities.

She has a fear of heights, which may seem old for a child that grew up knowing of and spending time in the wizarding world but she honestly couldn't tell you why. Maybe it was because of that trip during the summer when she was 10 to a muggle amusement park and her parents rode a roller-coaster with her for the first time.

Her father, a wizard, seemed to greatly enjoy the feeling of rushing threw the air. But Majata must of taken more after her muggle mother in this area as she came off the ride looker paler then normal and refused to ride another roller-coaster for the rest of the trip.

She also loves to experiment. Having watched her father brew potions in his small, basement potions lab as she would pretend to be reading in the corner of the room. It got her curious and she would, since she was not allowed to touch any of the ingredients in her fathers lab, start mixing kitchen ingredients together to see what the outcome would be. This usually lead to a mess though and the possibility of some sort of punishment, like no bed time story or going to her room, if the mess was big enough or she did something dangerous.

Biography: Majata's parents were complete opposites, like you wouldn't believe. Her mum Mary - Mary Rose she was called before, you know, before the whole marriage thing - she was one of those muggle-born witches who'd went to Hogwarts way back when. Smart as anything, that one. And then there's her dad Alexandre who was just... well, he was a right piece of work back in school, wasn't he?

They knew each other at Hogwarts, obviously, same year and all that, but calling them mates would be pushing it. Mary couldn't stand the bloke, if you're being honest. Always lurking about in the potions dungeon like some sort of bat, muttering away to himself about whatever weird ingredients he was messing about with that week. Never bothered talking to anyone proper - well, not unless you count talking to cauldrons, which most people don't think counts.

Anyway, they graduate, right? And Mary does this thing that had everyone going mental. Instead of doing what you're supposed to do - you know, get some cushy job at the Ministry, marry a nice wizard, settle down somewhere in Diagonally or whatever - she buggers off to muggle university. Wanted to study pharmacy, she did. Her parents had this little shop back in Durham that was basically falling apart, and Mary being Mary, she couldn't just watch it go down the drain. Family first and all that.

Now here's where it gets interesting. Few years later - and we're talking proper few years, like she'd finished her degree and everything - Mary's out at the Three Broomsticks for some friend's engagement do. You know how these things go, everyone getting absolutely bladdered and going on about the good old days like they weren't mostly terrible. And who does she spot in the corner, looking like death warmed over? Alexandre bloody Rain, nursing what looked like the most depressing drink known to wizardkind.

Must've been the firewhisky talking, because Mary actually went over. Started chatting, and something just... clicked, you know? Turns out the weird antisocial git from school had grown up into this quietly intense sort of bloke who actually listened when you talked. Mental how people change, isn't it?

Fast forward a bit - well, quite a bit actually, took them ages to sort themselves out properly - and there they are, both living in this tiny little Durham town that nobody's ever heard of. Running Mary's parents' old pharmacy, which by then was doing alright for itself. Mary handled all the boring stuff like prescriptions and keeping the taxman happy, while Alexandre mostly just stocked shelves and worked the till. Not like he'd went to university for any of this, poor sod.

But here's the thing - and this is where it gets proper interesting - Alexandre had his own little side business going on. Nothing dodgy, mind you, just... well, being handy with potions and all, he'd quietly help out the few magical families scattered around town. Very hush-hush sort of deal, word of mouth only. Brown paper packages after closing time, that sort of thing. The muggle customers hadn't got a clue, obviously.

Growing up in all this, little Majata spent most of her time perched behind the counter like some kind of tiny shopkeeper, always with her nose stuck in a book. Fairy tales mostly, though sometimes she'd sweet-talk one of her parents - usually her mum, let's be honest - into transfiguring one of her magical storybooks so she could read it without getting funny looks from the customers. Just your average Tuesday in the Rain household, really.

First time they took her to Diagon Alley - she must of been about four, maybe five? Hard to remember exactly - anyway, poor little thing nearly had her brain melted by all the chaos. Shop windows full of stuff that moved about on its own, cauldrons bubbling away without anyone touching them, quills just scribbling away in midair like it was the most normal thing in the world. She didn't understand half of what she was seeing, but she knew it was magic, and that was enough to have her staring like a proper tourist.

Her parents were busy in Slug & Jiggers or one of those places, probably having a row about the price of beetle eyes or something equally fascinating, when Majata decides to have a little explore. The shop was absolutely crammed with weird stuff - jars of things that probably shouldn't exist lined up on every shelf, wooden crates stacked up to the ceiling, bundles of herbs hanging about like some kind of witchy washing line.

Then she spots something outside the window and off she goes. Just wandered right out, bold as brass, straight into the Magical Menagerie next door. There was this gorgeous little black kitten in the window, and that was it for her. Game over.

Now, Majata had been going on about wanting a cat for months - proper months, driving everyone mental with it. But her parents kept fobbing her off with the usual "you're too young to look after a pet properly" rubbish. At four years old, that seemed like complete nonsense to her. How hard could it be to feed a cat, right? So she'd been wearing them down with constant pestering about when exactly she'd be old enough. Her mum would just give her that patient sort of smile and say "when you're older, sweetheart," which wasn't nearly good enough as far as Majata was concerned.

There she was, having a proper conversation with this kitten through the glass - and we're talking proper conversation, like the cat was answering back and everything - when she hears her parents absolutely losing their minds somewhere outside. They'd figured out she wasn't in the potions shop anymore and were clearly having some sort of breakdown trying to find her. All that panic over nothing, really.

Majata just gives them this cheerful little wave through the window and shouts "Mummy! Daddy! Look, there's a cat!" - completely clueless about why they both looked like they were about to have heart attacks. Bless her.

That kitten ended up coming home with them, of course. Luna, they called her, because of how her black fur caught the light all silvery-like in the moonlight. Took weeks of Majata's non-stop campaigning - and we're talking non-stop, the kid was relentless - but she wore them down eventually. Always did know how to get what she wanted, that one.

Seven years later, Luna's still glued to Majata's side like they're joined at the hip. That particular morning - it was one of those proper lovely summer days, you know the sort, all warm and lazy and perfect for doing absolutely nothing - Luna was curled up in Majata's lap while she doodled away in her sketchbook. Her brown and purple curls kept falling in her face the way they always did when she was concentrating, and she was absent-mindedly scratching behind Luna's ears with her free hand when something starts tapping at the kitchen window.

Owl. Great big golden-eyed thing with an envelope clutched in it's beak that looked far too official for anyone's liking.

Her Hogwarts letter, finally. About bloody time, too.

First Instance of Magic: She was just six when it started – her very first proper piece of accidental magic, though no one called it that at the time.

It was one of those gloriously warm afternoons, you know the ones, where you don’t want to be cooped up inside doing anything sensible? Majata had managed to get herself situated in a great spot under the old oak tree down by the river - big old bugger of a tree, that, must have been there forever - with some ripped-up old book open in her lap and the sun shining on her face just right. Luna had tagged along, obviously. That little black cat was ever eager for adventure, be it of someone else’s making or their own misadventure.

Majata was lost in whatever story she was reading — probably some princess and dragons thing, knowing her — Luna had chosen to go exploring. Bold as you please, up the tree she went, picking her way on this branch that stuck out over the deeper water and hung there. Not one of Luna’s brightest plans, if you ask anyone.

Then came the snap.

It was a real loud crack, the kind that makes your heart jump before your brain even catches up to what’s going on. Head of Majata went up just in time for her to see the splash. Her stomach plummeted through the floor. Luna had plunged right into the river, and the poor little thing was struggling in the water, wild with fright and unable to catch hold of anything.

Majata absolutely lost it. Screamed as though the world was ending and tossed her book away - didn’t hesitate at all, just dived right in after her. The current was swifter than it appeared from the bank, the mean old thing, and she was fighting like the dickens to reach Luna. Just kept calling her name, over and over, more and more frantic with every passing second.

Then just when she thought the inevitable was in the offing (Luna's tiny paws started to slacken, you could tell she was slowing down), something mental happened.

The cat just... stopped sinking.

Majata stopped, stilled for a long moment, momentarily disbelieving what she was seeing. Luna was hanging there, not sinking below the water as if lying on an invisible cushion or something. Drifting toward her all gentle-like, no more thrashing around.

Majata didn’t spend much time considering the weirdness of that. The moment Luna got close enough she reached out and snatched that wet, trembling baby right into her arms and high-tailed it back to the riverbank as fast as she could run (while carrying a swaddled babe, that is). Tears running down her face the entire time, like a proper mess.

Luna had been completely soaked and scared to death, but she was fine. That's all that mattered, really.
