Ruby's Story

Ruby has dark brown hair and brown eyes with a bit of gold flecks in them. She is about 4 and a half feet tall so she is about average for her age. She has a pale complexion and gets freckles easily in the summer. Because she enjoys playing outside and running around with friends, she has a slender and athletic build. She has a particularly nice smile, big doe like eyes, and rosy cheeks.

Ruby is very outgoing and had many friends growing up. Her best friends are Elizabeth Brooks and Anabelle Dalton who both come from Pure-Blood families. She met them because their parents work in the same department as her mother Christina, so they became very close. She is smart, kind, loyal, and stands up for what she believes in. Before her Hogwarts acceptance letter arrived, her mother gave her a muggle education so that when she was older she could navigate the muggle world as well as the magical world, so for this reason she is very well-rounded and has many interests such as painting, reading, dance, singing, and even learned how to play the piano.

Ruby's mother, Christina James had an affair with a muggle man named Thomas Coatsworth, so Ruby grew up as a half-blood with a single mother near London, England. She had always been aware of the magical world from a young age. Ruby's mother works for the Ministry of Magic in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. Because of this, Ruby has learned a lot about muggle items through her mother's job. Ruby does not have any siblings as Christina originally was not planning on having children, and Ruby was an accidental pregnancy through her affair. For this reason Ruby has never met her father and he has never been involved in her life. Ruby on the other hand has always been very close with her mother, and has a loving relationship with her. They enjoy cooking together in their kitchen.

Ruby's first instance of accidental magic happened at the age of 6. At this age like most children, she was struggling with tying the shoelaces on her sneakers. Her mother usually did them for her, but encouraged her to try it on her own. One day, Ruby got particularly frustrated and threw a tantrum out of anger. After crying for a few seconds angrily she looked down at her shoes only to notice in surprise that they had been tied. Ruby knew that she didn't tie them with her hands, and her mother didn't tie them as she was outside doing yardwork. Later she told her mother, and her mother told her that she had used magic accidentally.
