Sam has warm, honey-colored eyes and pale skin. Her hair is short and slightly curly at the ends, the shade of her dark blonde hair shifts under the light when viewed from different angles. She is the second child in her family, with a brother one year older and a sister five years younger. Sam’s family owns a medium-sized brick building on Diagon Alley. Three of the stories are used for their family-run bookstore, while the upper floors are the family’s living area.

Sam is kind and hardworking. She works effectively and efficiently. She is good at calculation and is proficient in cleaning and levitating magic thanks to her experience helping in the bookstore. Despite her abilities, she is an indecisive person and follows her brother’s lead most of the time when they are playing or working together.

Sam shares similar facial features with her brother, who is also her best friend, Silas. They are often mistaken for one another by customers, neighbors, and sometimes even their own parents if they aren’t speaking. The summer before Sam entered Hogwarts, she and Silas decided that one of them should change their appearance to avoid being confused by their classmates. After three rounds of coin tossing, Sam cut her hair short, while Silas used magic to curl her hair to her liking.

In her free time, Sam usually reads. Her greatest interest is designing new sign boards for books in the store. She always does the lettering, and her brother is in charge of the illustrations. Sam also loves animals. She and her brother are the ones who take care of the carrier owls in their house. She first demonstrated her magical talent while cleaning the owls’ nest, a family of seven owls. One baby owl fell from the nest but stopped in midair before it touched the ground.
