Even though the a lack of magic in her family, her father's stories have always been filled with wonder and superstition, and this makes Tajra's magical abilities seem like they were expected for generations, even when it is not understood. Tajra grew up surrounded by music, dance, and tales told by the light of the fire. Her mother is a skilled seamstress who embroiders protective amulets on her clothes, and Tajra's father is a storyteller by trade, who filled her childhood with legends of shapeshifters and wise women.

First Instance of Magic:
Tajra's magic first came to be during a summer family reunion, when a frightened pony almost hit her cousin. Tajra, almost without noticing, pulled her cousin to safety with an invisible force.
