Physical Description: Gale is a rather tall, slender young man, almost androgynous. His face is a little angular, but still childlike, and his hair is brown. Loose strands fall over his forehead, giving him a disheveled look no matter how hard he tries to tidy it up. He has a pale complexion and a face studded here and there with a few discreet but stubborn freckles, especially on the bridge of his nose. Gale's deep gray eyes are easy to plunge into at the risk of catching a sideways glance. The young man often crinkles them, in an expression of skepticism or sulky reflection, almost comical. The lucky ones - those capable of making him laugh - will have spotted a dimple on his left cheek when he smiles or laughs.

Mental Description:
In his mind, things are never simple. Gale has his own way of seeing the world. He doesn't like half-measures or maybes. For him, things are true or false, fair or unfair. And he has no trouble expressing his way of thinking on the subject. He uses a rather cold attitude at first glance (arms often crossed, eyebrows furrowed) as armor to protect himself from others.
Gale is terribly stubborn. Whether he's right (or not), he'll stand his ground right to the end, and only admit his wrongdoing when he's at his wit's end. He sulks easily, often closes up, but never on a whim. It's his way of protecting himself and buying time. The world often moves too fast for him, and he always needs time to step back and observe those around him. Gale may be stubborn, but he doesn't act in bad faith. Once he's had time to think things over, he's quick to admit his mistakes and willing to apologize. If deserved.
He's very observant. Everything is important to him. People, gestures and especially silences.
Underneath all these certainties lies a boy with a big heart. Gale is not the villain he pretends to be. He may be brusque, clumsy and tough on the surface, but deep down he's only interested in doing the right thing. He may shun overt displays of affection, but he's nonetheless deeply loyal. When he loves, it's for good.


Biography: Gale Harris is a young half-blood wizard born in Hastings, on the south coast of England. At the age of 11, he entered Hogwarts in 2025. Naturally stubborn and often sulky, Gale's personality is marked by strong judgments, a strong sense of justice and a sensitivity that he hides behind a fierce reserve. Observant, not very talkative with strangers but fiercely loyal to his own, he is reluctant to place his trust - but gives it unconditionally once he has won it.

He is the second son of Eliza Green, a Muggle nurse, and Theodore Harris, a bookseller and former magic historian. The couple met in Hastings while Theodore was conducting magical research into the famous battle of 1066. Having fallen in love with Eliza, he gave up his academic career to stay with her.

Gale grew up in the shadow of his older brother, Jude, three years older, talented and charismatic, but lacking in magical powers. This ambivalent relationship of mutual admiration and jealousy left a deep impression on Gale. For a long time, he thought he would be “normal”, like Jude, until the day when a small magical incident - boots that began to levitate - turned his vision of the world upside down.

Receiving his letter to Hogwarts was a mixture of pride and guilt, torn between the joy of being “special” and the pain of having what his brother will never have. Since then, Gale has been moving between two worlds, both excited and worried about what lies ahead.


First Instance of Magic: He was five years old, and it was raining that day. Gale, sulky, refused to put on his boots. He wanted the others, the ones Jude usually wore. But they were nowhere to be found.
Furious, he stamped his foot. Not hard, just enough to shake his frustration.
Suddenly, the closet opened with a jerk. The boots - Jude's boots - fell out of the closet, as if driven by an invisible gust of wind.
Gale took a step back, mouth ajar. He looked at his hands, then at the boots. Then his hands again.
He didn't understand what had just happened. But he knew one thing: something inside him had just awakened.
