Reuben was born on 24th March, 2010, and brought up in Spain, until the age of 9, which was when his family decided to shift to Algeria. They did this because most of their family members lived in Africa and had studied at Uagadou.

In Spain, Reuben was one of the most loved people. He had an amazing sense of humor and he spent most of his time interacting with others and joking around. He also played the piano on certain occasions, and was known for his music skills.

At the start, Reuben spent all his time around only pureblooded people and was pretty much a blood-purist, but as he grew, he realized that muggle-borns, muggles, half-bloods and squid were all people. Normal, living human beings who had done nothing wrong in life. Just because their blood was different didn't mean that they needed to be discriminated. He often sneaked out to play with the muggles, knowing that if he were to ask his parents, they would ground him until he promised never to ask such a question again. He learnt plenty of things from all his muggle friends, and was fascinated by the existence of electricity. He had to say, the muggles were quite smart. Saying goodbye to them was hard on him, when his parents decided to shift to Africa. He was also curious to whether his parents discovered him breaking rules and meeting muggles, but if they did know, which Reuben highly doubted, they showed no indication of it.

Shifting was hard on Reuben. Although he did not know Arabic, and was fluent only in English, he soon learnt it bit by bit, although not fluently. At any rate, he still prefers to talk in English. This led him to not having many friends in this new place, besides the fact that he did not look like any of the Africans either, which made them feel that he was a stranger, not to be trusted. Slowly, though, they saw the good in him, and saw his efforts, finally accepting him. Reuben was grateful to them for this. He could finally have some friends. It was hard, yes, and it took him a long time, but nothing was impossible.

As for magic, at the age of 9, a bit after Reuben's family shifted, he'd been crying in his garden under a tree, really hating all the unfriendly stares that were sent in his direction. As his tears fell on the ground, he noticed flowers growing from where they'd fallen. Reuben was shocked and immediately told his parents about this. His parents then explained to him that it must have been his first instance of magic, and it meant that Reuben wasn't a Squib. Reuben was slightly relieved, even though he knew that there was no bad in being a Squib.

One day, as Reuben came home after having dinner with a friend, he was so exhausted that he drifted off into a deep sleep, Reuben got a weird dream. It was one of his friends from Spain, telling him that he had been accepted at Uagadou. Reuben knew what this meant, having heard all about Uagadou's weird way of telling students that they had been accepted, and he also told his parents about this the next morning. Preparations were made and Reuben was sent to Uagadou on the first day. He would miss his family, but he was excited for this new journey.
