History: Katherine was born in raised in the United States of America, specifically in Los Angeles, California. Her pureblood parents were always off at work, employing a squib to take care of their two daughters. Her sister was older, Isabelle, with cascading blond hair. It had always been obvious to the young girl that Isabelle was the favorite of her parents, partly because she was the older. The heir, not that the redhead had ever wanted such a position. The squib, Helen, was a soft spoken young woman, always downcast whenever her parents were around. Helen always seemed brighter when their parents were gone.

It was Helen, Katherine, and Isabelle. She received her first nickname from her sister, officially deeming Katherine to be Kat. They would prance around the large house, playing with all the fancy paints they could find. The two girls could always convince Helen to play hide-and-seek with them, soft giggles drifting from all the different hiding spots within the tidy house. The two were active, although Kat was always more willing and rebellious than Isabelle. Belle had a reputation to uphold, though.

Kat would receive her second nickname from Helen. She was deemed KitKat after Helen saw the girl's face when she bit into the chocolate-covered wafer bars. KitKat would also get an MP3 player at this time, some songs already inputted into the small device. It crashed occasionally, but the girl felt better having music- art- near her. It would become a new accessory, one only hidden when her parents returned from work.

Her small school gave her a different name. Katherine was far too fancy and old for an elementary schooler. Not wanting to be called Kat except by Isabelle, the new name would be Kit. It felt right to the girl, connected with bright smiles and grass-stained knees. Where her home was filled with art and music, school felt more about sports. PE was an important part and her favorite class- partly because they weren't trying to jam facts into her head. Her friends were almost all soccer players although Kit had never been allowed to join any sports teams outside of her school. And there wasn't really anything in elementary school. She supposed she could wait for middle school, but she knew she was going to a magical school.

And that was correct. The summer before her first year, her parents would drop her off in Lyon, France with her grandparents. Kit knew some French (it was a requirement of her parents), but she had wanted to go to Ilvermorny. Her parents, the ones with the highest authority, quickly shot down that idea, explaining how Beauxbatons was certainly the more fancy school. So, with that, the girl went to Beauxbatons.
