History: Ginyami, an only child, was raised to believe he and his family were better than mumajin or ‘muggle’ families, half-blood families, and even most pureblood families. His family looks down upon anyone not originally Japanese and not pureblood, so Ginyami grew into the same habits. That wasn’t to say he didn’t know how to hide it, however, and was always taught to remain courteous and polite to everyone no matter how beneath them he believed them to be. Ginyami’s family owns a chain of successful shops selling magical plants, herbs, and ingredients. Because of this, he grew up with a more profound knowledge of these than most his age.
His family is rather wealthy thanks to their business and Ginyami learned early on how to get what he wanted if he wanted it badly enough. Flattery and politeness went a long way when manipulating others, whether they were customers or potential business partners. His parents taught him how to treat others the way said others wanted to be treated in order to get what they wanted from them. This was how their family’s business had prospered and grown over many generations.
Ginyami’s relationship with his parents is somewhat detached but decent enough. He meets their expectations, and they allow him to do what he wishes for the most part provided he will take over the family business when the time comes. His parents were both Mahotoukoro alumni and thus it was not a surprise but rather an expectation that Ginyami was invited to attend Mahotoukoro as they were. Like them, he was admitted to the school’s day program at the age of seven due to having shown his magical talent earlier.
First Instance of Magic:
The boy was five when he first revealed his magical abilities. He and his parents had gone to visit the one of the managers of his family’s shops at their home. The manager had a couple of children around Ginyami’s age, so he was encouraged to mingle and play with them while their parents discussed important business matters. The other children didn’t take kindly to Ginyami, making fun of his name as it was not a common or proper Japanese name and was instead made up by his parents. Ginyami simply smiled politely and took the verbal abuse as he was taught to do, but inside he was fuming.
When the other children finally grew sick of his silence and prodded him to speak, he opened his mouth to obey their wishes, but ended up blowing thick clouds of black smoke in their faces instead. Coughing and sputtering, the other children ran crying to their parents with red eyes while Ginyami dutifully returned to his own, unsure what had just happened. His own parents, however, were secretly proud, glad that their child had shown signs of his magical ability at such a young age.

- Though he may not seem much like the athletic type, Ginyami enjoys Quidditch because he can utilize his skills on a broom rather than have to get all sweaty and exhausted running around chasing a ball like in mumajin/muggle sports. He can tend to be really competitive, however, and is a sore loser, so watch out! He will readily perform fouls if he can get away with them (and sometimes even if he can’t). Quidditch is one way for him to get back at his enemies who he will not attack or retaliate against directly. When he plays this sport, for him, anything goes. He doesn’t have to work as hard to hide his true self as he does when spending time getting to know and converse with other people. Ginymai prefers playing the Keeper position as that was a position they needed when he was young and he’s grown used to it.

- As metrosexual as he is, Ginyami is conscious about looking his best at all times and dressing sharply. He is of the opinion that appearances are everything, so it’s important to dress for success. He also enjoys maintaining awareness of the latest fashions among purebloods and purchasing higher-end apparel because he appreciates the good things in life. Additionally, staying up-to-date with the most current trends allows him to notice who else is doing the same and is also fashion-savvy. It takes a chic person to know one and only by being familiar with the most expensive and popular brands can he recognize them on those sporting their goods.

He doesn’t splurge too often because he’s calculating and likes to be prudent with his spending, but if something is better-than-average quality or looks good and will last him a while, he’s more likely to pay the extra expense than settle for less. For this reason, he is very aware of particular brands, vehemently avoiding some and harboring deep loyalties toward others. Ginyami often saves up for shopping spree outings when he can indulge himself as well as shower others with gifts and a good time in order to gain favor with them. In this way, he can also seem wealthier than he actually is because of the large amounts he sets aside specifically to use on these outings with people he seeks to impress.
