Appearance: Zoya Chernova stand at 5'6", a bit taller than average, with a pale complexion and slim athletic build. She has long, straight, brunette hair that sits just passed her shoulder blades. Her eyes are a deep red color, although she constantly wears dark brown contacts in an attempt to hide her red eyes.

Personality: Zoya is a rather stubborn teenager. While she will listen to and pay attention to instruction, she will normally seem indifferent and as if she would rather be anywhere else. She will also not take attitude from anyone, not afraid to snap back if someone gives her or one of her friends the littlest bit of attitude. Zoya can be very friendly when she wants to be, especially getting along with other introverts as she would rather sit quietly with others than have to deal with someone else's constant chatter. She is not really used to being around other people constantly, so does not really know how to act. This normally makes other rather nervous around her as she can seem like a rather intimidating person.

Zoya Chernova was born February 14, 2008, in Myshkin, Russia. Aleksandr Chernov, her father, is a pureblood wizard who works for the Russian magical government, tracking down magical beings who break the law. Anastasia Chernova, her mother, is a pureblood witch who works at a magical lawfirm.

The first few years of Zoya's life were rather average for a witch or wizard. Weekdays were normally spent with the nanny, learning basic life skills. Weekends and evenings were spent at a variety of events with other pureblood families, she made a variety of friends through these events and enjoyed her life. When she was five years old, her family hired a governess who took care of all her education needs as well as private instructors for ballet and piano.

When she was seven years old, Zoya's life changed. Instead of attending the pureblood events and dinners on weekends and evenings, her family kept her locked away in their home only to interact with the staff as well as the private instructors. While they would allow her to leave the house on occasion, they were afraid for the safety of their child and others, not wanting something to happen to their daughter. At this point Zoya lost most of her friends and spent fewer days out of her home.

Unlike most magical children, Zoya's family decided it was best to not send her off to Koldovstoretz when she was 11 years old. Her governess was replaced with an instructor to teach her everything she would need to know about magic. While the Russian girl excelled at her studies, she did not have the social interaction like students at school would have, resulting in her inability to know exactly how to interact with others as well.

With the change of magical laws all over the world, her parents finally agreed to send the girl to Koldovstoretz at the age of 16 years. She was extremely nervous to begin school with other students for once, especially explaining to other students the reason as to why she was not sent to the magical school so late in her schooling years.

Zoya's first instance of magic occurred when she was four years old. It was nothing impressive or extravagant, no-one would have even thought anything of it if they had not seen it happen. The young Russian girl was out in the garden playing around, being watched by her nanny at the time when tripped and skinned her knee on one of the many stone pathways. Being an emotional young child, Zoya immediately went running to her nanny, who at the time assumed the young girl had broken a limb with the amount of tears and sobbing that had occurred. When her nanny was checking her over for any wounds, there were none, all that was left of the injury were the knees being ripped out of her stockings. The injury had completely healed over by the time Zoya had even reached the woman.
