Ethan James Brian Hamilton stands at 4'7" and is slender with a permanent stoop from too much reading. He wears round, circle glasses sitting over brownish-black eyes that are always set and questioning. Biography
Ethan was born to David Hamilton, a Muggle historian, and Moira MacLeod, a pure-blood witch and historian of magic, in Glasgow. Moira moved them to Edinburgh after David's death of a heart attack when Ethan was six years old. Ethan grew up on a combination of magical education and Muggle practices under Moira. He learned to operate a kettle and a wand, read fantasy novels and ancient runes, and grew up in a household full of spellbooks and Muggle paperbacks.
Moira MacLeod was once a renowned magical historian, known for her research on ancient Scottish wandcraft and the intersections between Celtic magic and wizarding tradition. Brilliant and reserved, she met David Hamilton—then a Muggle historian—while researching in a Glasgow library. David, kind and endlessly curious, specialized in pre-Roman Britain and was fascinated by mythology. Their debates over druids eventually led to something deeper. He was one of the few Muggles Moira ever trusted with her world. After his death, she raised Ethan and Matilda alone, determined to honor both their heritages.

When Ethan was seven years old, he encountered a stray dog in his backyard. The dog growled and snapped, and Ethan, scared, yelled at the dog to get away. A tremendous burst of energy shot out of him, knocking the dog off the ground. The dog scurried away in one piece, but the experience confirmed his magical power to his mother.

Reading most of all is Ethan's love. He devours fantasy books like *Percy Jackson* and *The Lord of the Rings*.
