Physical Description: Devereux stands at 168cm, tall for his age. Curly blonde hair and green-blue eyes are some of his other notable traits.
Mental Description: Rafal is very much guided by his goals and ambitions. He has a set ideal image of reality in his mind, and is willing to go to extreme measures in order to achieve it. On a further note, he is prone to worrying about not living up to expectations or his full potential, and seeks approval in others. While he tends to subconsciously gravitate towards what makes the most logical sense, and tends to prefer to approach situations with a concrete plan, this habit of keeping his feelings private often backfires, leading to them fuelling his actions. He forms very strong attachments to others, as well as obsessing over past mistakes. He is cautious to a certain degree, quick to consider the implications of what he sees or does. This cynicism and inquisitive gives him the desire to see all sides, and to understand the why, or mechanics of things.
Biography: Devereux did not have the most conventional childhood. His father left before he was even born, and while his mother was from a very well-off pure blood line, her family did not approve of the pregnancy, leading to her leaving for Wales, away from their influence. She wanted to be in the showbiz and worked as a waitress in the meantime, waiting and hoping for her big break. As a result, they weren’t very comfortable, and Rafal developed a rather pragmatic view of the world from a young age. While his mother was never abusive in any way, he always felt she held a certain indifference toward him, resulting in somewhat pining for her approval. But nothing really changed until Rafal’s Hogwarts letter arrived, and she seemed enthusiastic for the first time.
First Instance of Magic: Rafal’s First Instance of Magic occurred at age ten - rather late compared to other wizarding children, though at that point he was just glad it had happened at all. It was his mother’s birthday, and he had decided to surprise her by making a cake, more in an attempt for her approval than anything else - not that he would have ever admitted it. Alas, just as he had finished decoration and was moving it to the kitchen table, he slipped and to his horror, he lost hold of the cake and it fell, about to be destroyed before his eyes. But just before it hit the ground, the cake seemed to slow down, and landed on the floor utterly intact.
