Physical Description: Agnès is an eleven year old girl of fair skin. Despite her age she always appears similar to a life sized vintage doll, her sense of style best described as “Victorian”, typically her hair is fashioned big and curly, though in some settings she can be found with a top knot or a messy bun. The color is always a shiny chestnut color, never dirty unless tainted by outside forces. Her build is skinny but not quite “thin” and she appears healthy for the most part excepting her pale skin though this is mostly due to her time inside rather than any conditions or illnesses. She is a bit taller than most girls her age and does not appear to be done growing quite yet, being similar in stature to her male peers, approximately 4’11. Her expression varies depending on the day, but most days she appears somewhat blank, her striking blue eyes wide and her rosy lips turned down in a passive frown, her nose is of an average length with a pointy tip at the very end.
Mental Description: Odette is a quiet and gentle girl, typically taking good care of herself and her belongings. She is rarely seen consciously making mistakes, but when they happen they can be pretty big. This is a result of her attempts to look perfect, because of her conscious effort to avoid small things, she will usually miss the big problem. Agnès doesn’t have many people she talks to, in part because she isn’t very social, whether it be fear of embarrassment or a dislike of certain people she can sound almost condescending in conversations, especially academics. This is not her intention, in fact she does enjoy kind, slow interactions with people, as being anxious can be lonely sometimes.
Biography: Agnès comes from a French family of privilege, she spent the first few years in France with her parents and two siblings, a pair of older twin brothers. The Odette’s moved to England when Agnès’ father moved in for work, it was meant to be a temporary arrangement but the family enjoyed the trip enough to stick around, and seeing as Agnès was getting old enough to attempt magic for the first time, they figured they’d give her a chance to be seen by Hogwarts. Despite the esteem of Beauxbatons, Hogwarts was an impressive school in its own right and perhaps it would look good on Agnès’ record. Her life hasn’t had much hardship, the family was fairly well off, pure-blooded and, as the only girl, Agnès was given special attention and care, taught how to look and act cute, it all worked out in her benefit. The only issue was that in putting her on a pedestal, she didn’t have much experience being a normal girl. This resulted in her becoming socially stunted, she could talk of course but she didn’t understand many informal social cues. This, coupled with her care for her outward appearance, made her a bit of an anxious mess in some situations. Overall however, she can be a nice girl when you get to know her, just take her out of her shell.
First Instance of Magic: The Odette family wanted to ensure she had her first instance, and never missed a moment in case they would catch it. They placed items around and tried influencing her emotions positively, as they came up dry in their attempts they began to fear she’d been born a squib. In their stress they hadn’t paid much attention to the small girl, who watched their mini pet fish dart back and forth in the tank, its scales glistening beautifully, she yearned to have it, but how would she grab it? She had no idea, nor did she have any plan at all, leaning on the glass she began to wonder what life would be like as a fish… she could almost feel the water… taste it too… taste? She looked around and found herself crammed in the fish tank and in her place before the tank was their pet flopping on the ground, the thud caught the attention of her parents, who, after rescuing her, let out a relieved sigh that despite their worries, she would perform magic just as they did in their past.
