Physical Description: Maya has wavy brown hair that goes a little past her shoulders, and brown eyes. She’s a little smaller than average, standing at 4’6”. She has a small build, but that makes her pretty fast in gym. She isn’t super athletic other than that though.

Mental Description: Maya’s generally more on the quiet side, more content to stay indoors than go out. She’s a creative person - she likes painting (with watercolors specifically), crocheting, and origami. Even though she doesn’t look it, she’s super short tempered and can get upset at the littlest things. She also hates when people make jokes directed at her, even if they didn’t mean it. Because of this, she’s not much of a jokester herself. She’ll be sarcastic though, especially to kids who were mean to her.

Biography: Her home life before Hogwarts was pretty normal. Her parents were average - her dad works as a construction worker and her mom is a school nurse. She has a younger sister, Talia, who’s 7. They argue a lot. Maya did okay in school. She was good at science and math, but absolutely terrible at english and history. She didn’t have a whole lot of friends either, because she got angry really easily and blew up when she didn’t mean too.

First Instance of Magic: When Maya was 9, she was really starting to get into watercolor painting. She had gotten a couple of canvases for her birthday, and was using one of them to paint a red panda - an animal she had learned about in school and was absolutely obsessed. Anyway, she was painting and her sister came downstairs to the kitchen (where she was painting) to make herself a snack. While she did so, she accidentally knocked Maya’s water onto the canvas, ruining the painting. Maya had gotten so mad, and the next thing she knew, the water left in the cup splashed all over Talia. Maya didn’t know how this happened - she tried to tell her parents that, but they punished both of the girls; Talia for knocking the water over, and Maya for having a temper tantrum.
