**I just read that half Veela are an option in my acceptance letter. I'd like to eventually make Lily one, but I don't think I can be pureblooded if that's the case. I can't find the option to change my pureblood status to half-blood though.

Physical Description:

Lily's wavy hair falls across her back like an avalanche of flame. It is by far her most noticeable feature, given its radiant hue and the fact that it has more volume than an elderly person's television. Every step she takes is accentuated by a bounce of her voluminous mane, which, depending on her stage of life, could hang to her lower back, or just the bottom of her neck.

Her eyes change depending on her mood for the day. It isn't a magical ability of hers; she simply prefers colored contact lenses. Some days, she "feels" blue, and some days she "feels" purple. The decision of her daily eye color really is that simple, and that nonsensical.

She is tall, but not unreasonably so. Standing at 5'1", Lily is usually teased by her family. They say that all the time in the sun made her grow like a flower. She loves this comparison.

Her outfits rarely match, but she does only pick clothing that she thinks is pretty at the time. Sometimes, she prefers a pretty white sundress and matching sandals. Other times, a black skirt, matching tank top, and dark purple combat boots are more her style. She changes clothing preferences on a whim, like everything else in her life.

Mental Description:

Lily's most defining characteristic is her indecision. Something she likes one day might be hated the next. A color she has no strong feelings for might become her favorite the following week. But almost as strong as her indecision is her commitment, ironic though it may sound.

When she makes a friend, she is one hundred percent committed to her friendship. She is the true 'ride or die.' If her friend asks her to key their ex's car, she's already there, keys in hand. If her friend is planning a wedding, Lily has already found caterers and boutiques to recommend. And if her friend has had enough of her, she respects their need for distance, but reiterates that she's still there for them.

Even in hobbies, her commitment mixes with her indecision. She's been a sewing hobbyist since she was five, even if her particular tastes have changed. One week, she might be fascinated with sewing coats and cloaks. Another week, she might fancy herself a haberdasher. But the core interest, sewing, is still there, even if her interests flit between areas of specialization.

Biography:

**I'm keeping this brief because I plan to be a half-Veela, but the Acceptance letter said not to put that in this part because there's an application.

Beauty is the centerpiece in the tapestry of the Blumenthal family. Like their namesake, every woman in the Blumenthal family is almost obsessed with beauty in one way or another. Some hyperfixate on makeup and other cosmetics while others, like Lily's mom, are more the botanist type, contributing to the beautiful fields of flowers the Blumenthal family are known for. Lily shares her mom's love for beautiful blooms, and even loves to incorporate them into her sewing whenever she can.

Lily's dad is no exception to the family's obsession with beauty. He doesn't maintain himself with makeup or hair styling, and he doesn't see to the massive fields of flowers belonging to his wife, but his beauty habits linger in the worlds of architecture and art. He designs and builds beautiful structures in the fields they call home. Whether building onto their actual home or designing grandiose statues featuring all things beautiful, he has contributed just as much to the home's beauty as his wife and daughter.

First Instance of Magic:

Like most four-year-olds, Lily followed her mom around like a lost puppy. She wanted nothing more than to be like her mom, so when her mom spent entire days under the sun, singing and watering her flowers, Lily was right there with her.

At the time, Lily's favorite flower was of course the Tiger Lily. When asked why, she would always say "because it matches my hair." Her mom always smiled at that answer and, when Lily was four, her mom finally allowed her to plant her own flowers for the massive floral garden.

One of the rules for their garden was that all flowers had to be planted by hand. Casting magic to make them grow took the real magic out of gardening, her mom would say. So after weeks of planting the bulbs, watering them, and weeding them, Lily was thrilled to see the first emergence of the sprouts that would one day become her first flowers.

Then the deer came, trampling the bulbs before they had the chance to fully grow. Lily saw the trampled mess of her flowers the next morning, and her small heart was filled with grief at the lost flowers and fury at the deer. Her mom insisted that they were just animals being animals, and that being angry wouldn't bring the flowers back, but Lily's grief wasn't so easily managed.

She dropped to her knees and cried over the remains of her flowers. Her mom stood behind her with a comforting hand on her shoulder as she cried. She was there, but she wasn't stopping Lily's healthy grief.

Lily felt her mom's hand gently shaking her shoulders and looked up at her mom, who was smiling at the destroyed flowers. When Lily looked back down, she saw that her tears had sprouted into small blooming Tiger Lilies as they hit the ground.

Lily asked her mom if they were good flowers, since they were grown with magic, even if it was an accident. Lily's mom told her that they were very good flowers, because they were grown with love, the strongest magic of all.
