Gender Presentation: Feminine. Not on purpose or anything, but people tend to assume that they're a girl and give him girly things, and what's wrong with long hair and comfy dresses?

Other?: Often wears indigo earrings resembling butterfly wings (made of glass, enchanted not to break) and/or a silver crescent moon pendant. (Neither pictured.)

Mental Description:
Note: I’ll get this out of the way real quick: I imagine Aisling has some undiagnosed stuff, but as he doesn’t know what it is, I won’t label it. Besides, if I fail to roleplay it correctly, she might as well not have it, right? With that out of the way…

Gender: Pangender. Aisling doesn’t see any real reason to choose a single gender, and therefore doesn’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (They don’t take offense to people assuming that he’s a cis girl, though.)

Pronouns: All of them! =D

The Problems™: Frequently dissociates when stressed,
Reducio
And just in case anyone thinks this is against the rules: The introductory owl states, “We do not accept multiple personality disorder or dissociative identity disorder (DID).” Dissociation does not mean DID, and I am not trying to hint at DID here. Aisling does not have DID.
fear of fire (can handle it in small increments/from a significant distance- ie can handle a small candle flame or a distant campfire- but seeing a campfire or trying to cast incendio would be a definite problem), struggles to focus or pay attention (in other words, head in the clouds -_-), not exactly amazing with social cues, and deals with night terrors. :(

Neutral Stuff: Being spiritual is neutral, right? He meditates every morning (often to try and cope with nightmares… Yikes), believes that nature itself has untapped magic within it, and does their best to keep her soul… Healthy? And there’s nothing wrong with being introverted and withdrawn, so that fits here as well. So does being quiet. And being constantly bored isn’t technically bad, either… Also, once she fully makes up their mind about something, there is no changing it.

GOOD Stuff: Something cool real quick: Synesthesia. For Aisling, music is color. Just wanted to get that out of the way before the personality traits: She is absurdly caring and empathetic. Even if you were cruel to them, he would still care. Adapts really easily to new ideas and won’t hate you for having a different opinion! Yay! But seriously, if you throw them into an entirely new situation, he certainly won’t like it, but she’ll still deal with it. How? Through the power of ✨creativity✨. And every so often, she’ll just throw themself into something and actually manage to focus on it. Rare, but if they’re really enjoying himself… Well, she can get a lot done in one (good) sitting. ;)

Quirks: Despises both lying and sarcasm. Aisling’s words are meant literally, and he much prefers to be able to interpret words literally. If you’re being sarcastic, it takes her a few crucial moments to decipher your meaning. If you’re lying, it’s even worse. So no white lies, thanks.

Hobbies? You see, his issue with deciphering lies and sarcasm is that she’s not expecting to be deciphering it in the middle of whatever else they’re currently doing. But runes and cyphers during their free time? That’s fun. One of Aisling’s favorite games to play with their cousin, in fact, is them coming up with codes and cyphers, writing messages in them, and giving them to the other to decipher. He also quite enjoys reading ancient stories (the shorter the better, though), playing the harp, drawing, and woodcarving- the last of which being an activity taught to them by their late uncle.

Favorite Colors: Blue and green, but they enjoy purple as well. Fiery colors, on the other hand… Not as great.

Biography:
Aisling… Never really had many friends. After her father died in a professional Quidditch match when they were only five (and while she was in attendance, yikes), his mother had the two of them move to a predominantly Muggle town to be closer to her squib sister: Aisling’s aunt, Róisín. Suddenly, the only magical thing around them apart from themselves (and even Aisling himself was just an assumption) were the thestrals of the small herd hidden in a nearby forest. Suddenly, he was thought of as too ‘muggle’ for the other purebloods. Suddenly, she was friendless.

Of course, Aisling tried to make friends, but he didn’t exactly know… Well, anything about what the Muggles there liked! And so, their only real option was her cousin, Niamh. And actually? They got along great! And eventually, when Niamh woke up one day with white hair, it even turned out that she had magic! Now, instead of her being the only one showing Aisling her world, they could show her his world as well! Even without other friends in the community, Aisling was happy. As long as their cousin was by her side, everything was perfect.

…Until the fire, that is.

Yes, they both survived. And yes, it had the effect of having Niamh live with them. But did that mean much when Aunt Róisín and Uncle Conor had both died? Did it mean anything at all when the both of them were so, so close to dying themselves? Realizing just how close they were to death… It changed Aisling. He wasn’t scared of death, of course- having a Class XXXX beast only rated that high because of their association with death nuzzle your cheek is great at making you realize just how little you have to actually fear from that inevitable fate, after all- but near-death scenarios when you’re supposed to be safe are still life-changing. Especially when you could’ve been able to save somebody.

It’s been years since the fire, though. Aisling… Hasn’t really recovered, but Niamh’s assurances that Hogwarts was all she could hope for (she’d gotten to go a year before Aisling himself) had at least allowed them to feel… A bit excited. And anyways, Hogwarts had Divination classes, right? Even if it took until third year, she would make his family proud! They’d live up to the ancestor she was named after, Aisling Carmody I, the greatest Seer in their lineage! (Or, well… That’s what he told themself, at least.)

(Extra home info that didn't fit that great with how I was telling the info: Niamh is going into her second year, Aisling's mother is a magizoologist specializing in the study of thestrals, his father was a Chaser, their Aunt Róisín was a teacher, and her Uncle Conor was a Muggle woodworker. Aisling has a black crup (Onyx) and a raven (Astra) back home as pets, and Niamh has a calico kitten (Neapolitan) as her pet. Aisling went to a wizarding prep school before moving to Cavan, then had her Aunt Róisín tutor him until her death; after that, their mother had to hire a different tutor for him, but she was never quite as enthusiastic... Aisling's family, the House of Carmody, considers it a source of pride that Seers pop up in their bloodline every few generations; of course, the most successful of these Seers was Aisling's namesake who foretold her own death, but still. It's a rare ability to have, and yet members of their family seem to have it all the time!)

First Instance of Magic:
It had been a perfectly ordinary night. His mother had been out in the forest studying the thestrals, and Aisling herself had been staying with Niamh. There was nothing out of the ordinary… So why did it go so wrong?

It started simple. The cousins were hungry, so they’d decided to have a midnight snack. But, unfortunately, they made the grave mistake of having Aisling make the food… Because having a seven-year-old Pureblood cook the Muggle way is just an amazing idea, right? Yeah… It should be obvious that they left the stove unattended, and before long? Well, the house was set ablaze, of course.

The first emotion that struck their minds? Panic. What else were they to feel when it was too hot to think, too hard to breathe in the smoke? What else were they supposed to feel, when they had no idea what to do? All they could do was try to huddle together in the corner, as far from the flames as they could, and try to survive. Aisling had accepted her own death as inevitable, in this moment. The moment he truly realized that death would come for everyone, even themself- but he wouldn’t accept it for their dear cousin. All they could do in that horrible, horrible moment was beg and plead for his mother to come and save her...

Neither of them noticed the way the flames refused to come near them, like a bubble of protection surrounding. Neither of them noticed Aisling’s first true use of accidental magic. Neither of them realized that the others in the house could have possibly been saved…

Not until it was too late, at least.

But hey. The children survived; and that’s what matters, isn’t it?
