Taipei, Taiwan
Function:
First year, Slytherin
Wand:
30,6 cm chestnut wood and wampus cat hair
Description: Amaya has long, raven black hair that curves in at the ends, reaching a little below her shoulders. She has bright blue eyes and fair skin. She has a small sprinkle of faded in freckles dotting her cheekbone, though it's barely seeable. She can typically be found wearing long black robes lined with silver and green. She has pretty straight posture.

Personality: Amaya is usually more on the quiet side. She tends to be pretty awkward, overthinking things often. She doesn’t trust easily, and even though her upbringing was supposed to turn her against muggleborns and half-bloods, she was doesn’t care too much of it and would rather examine personalities first before approaching. She is also quite stubborn and eager to stick to her ideals, not quick to abandon them.

When she truly trusts someone, or trusts them enough, she’ll become more bouncy and cheerful. She is also quite ambitious and prideful in her work. She can be overexcited and ramble on a lot. However, she has a quick temper, that rises as quickly as it disappears. This causes her to never quite be able to hold her grudges.

Origins and More: Her pureblood family is more on the minor side, though they are quite spiteful towards muggles, forcing Amaya to follow their ideals. Amaya has a older sister who graduated Hogwarts and separated herself from Amaya and her family. They don’t talk much anymore, except for the occasional brush by and nod, whenever they happen to meet.

The Bournes do not typically associate themselves with anyone non-pureblood or wizard-born, as they view muggleborns tainted by muggles, but are more open towards half-bloods. They occasionally meet half-bloods, just small greetings, nothing much. So while Amaya may be open to all types of statuses, she must make connections and stay away from at least muggleborns- or really, as her parents call them, filthy mudblood beasts.

She also enjoys to isolate herself in her room, reading fictional stories or potions books, trying her best to understand potions theory, as it is one of the subjects she is excited about. She is hoping for Slytherin, to live up to her parents’ expectations, but would settle for Ravenclaw even though she also enjoys the thought of being a Slytherin and hoping to help change people’s opinions on the whole “evil Slytherin” thing. She also loves watching the sunset, blending into different colors, as it calms her.

However, she dislikes her family, as her sister is quite distant and hostile, fitting into the classic pureblood role. Even when they were children, her sister could be found laughing at everyone who wasn't a pureblood, pointing out everyone's weaknesses and poking sharply at them. Amaya's parents are strict, forcing Amaya to follow in their footsteps, giving her a set of rules she must follow. Sometimes, though, Amaya finds herself missing her sister, for she was the only one who’d, in her opinion, cared. Amaya’s happiest childhood memories belong with her.

Her parents were always distant, causing Amaya to feel rather alone and crave their support, and instead turning to books. She entertains the idea of becoming a astounding writer one day, a writer of fiction and fantasy, a writer who could create a world for their readers to escape to, a writer who everyone would admire. Amaya has never really had a real friend she felt actually understood her. She also loves music, mainly listening to the violin and the piano. She is secretly intrigued by the muggles’ classical music, listening to it at night, something to comfort her and let her travel away from reality, even if it is only for a moment.

She hates Gryffindors with all her heart, thinking them rash and impulsive, one of the rarer things that have traveled over from her parents. She is also from Taiwan, but since she moved to London at age three, her English is pretty good, but not exactly typical for someone who lives in London. She'll occasionally draw, mostly playing with shadows or making lined borders with ink. Due to her childhood, she has a perfected pureblood mask, created to easily change for every situation. She’s also admittedly smiled a lot more since she joined Hogwarts.

All Likes: Amaya thoroughly enjoys watching both the sunset and sunrise. It soothes her. She also enjoys going out into the Great Lake and watching the waves. Amaya also enjoys writing and reading.

All Dislikes/Fears: Amaya hates swimming, overly loud, nosy, rude people... and bugs. Amaya also fears heights, Flying, and complete darkness.
