Physical Description: Richard is African-English, around the average height for his age, has brown eyes, and has medium length dreadlocks.

Mental Description: Richard Royce’s mental state is not pretty. He has mental disorders, which include psychosis, ADHD, and bipolar depression. He has hallucinations and delusions, and is pretty much always in a bad mood. From the outside, he looks pretty normal, but if you were to look closely enough you’d be able to tell he has some problems. From sudden jerky movements to him muttering to himself, it can be noticed.

Biography: When Richard was eight years old, he had been in a car crash with his father. He can’t remember much, but he remembers being yelled at angrily by his father the entire drive before the crash. Then, moments later, an SUV had accidentally crashed into them, sending their small car skidding across the road on its side. Then, the memory skips to him, staring down at his dead father, blood coming out of his nose and mouth. His pupils rolled up almost entirely into his head. His bloody mouth halfway open. His right leg nowhere to be seen. He could have swore his vision glitched, and his father’s head faced the other way, but then it glitched again and he was back to how he was before. But no one believed him. No one ever did. He was a crazy, abnormal child with no human decency.
Richard’s childhood was mysterious- after the car crash, he remembered nothing from before it. Nothing at all. He had been diagnosed with physchosis and ADHD. His doctor said this was all most likely caused by some source of childhood trauma, but again, Richard remembers nothing. But sometimes he has flashes of cameras, an hourglass, a clock, and a twig. He could just feel all of those resembled something strong to him, but he didn’t know what. Before he knew it, he became obsessed with finding out. But no matter how many Google searches he did, he couldn’t find anything. When his doctor informed them of this, he asked his mother if she knew of any childhood trauma he had. She said no. Maybe the doctor wasn’t paying close enough attention, but Richard could tell she was lying. And she felt guilty about something. But whenever Richard tried to question her, she would get mad and send him out of the as room. Once, Richard swore he heard a sob from his bedroom.
Due to his mental illnesses, Richard was nothing you would call a “normal child”. But he was still a good hearted person. He always like to make people laugh and smile, he loved helping people, and anything to achieve his dream of everyone being happy.
But his better angels stood no chance when he was constantly heavily bullied and harassed at school. The students saw his unusual ways, and they found it amusing. It made him an easy target, and he hardly seemed to fight back. Richard prayed it would stop, as it was driving him insane. Literally. But he seem every time he prayed, it got worse. He was bullied in every way there was. And as if that wasn’t enough, very often, he would have hallucinations, delusions, and terrible intrusive thoughts that made his life miserable. And as time passed, he got a new disorder: Bipolar Disorder. He was miserable 24/7. His dream stood no more. The more life went on, the more miserable he was getting; he could feel his mental state deteriorating. And then- his mother signed him up for an art class. Art was lovely. And Richard was extremely talented. But then, his mother died. The last person- the only person that was ever there for him. Kind of, anyway. Now he had no one. And not only did her mother go to the grave, but so did most of his chances of figuring why he was like he was. He was soon adopter by a woman who had a daughter. They adopted him, got their money, then completely ignored him. Completely. His artwork, that had been of things such as beautiful landscapes, turned gruesome and unsettling. But it was his only release. Then a letter came, for R. Royce. He had been accepted into a magical wizard in school. He was a wizard. It took him a while to believe it but finally he did. He was going to a wizard if boarding school. He would never have to go back to his old school. Maybe people there would like him and he’d make friends, maybe he’d find another passion like art, but the most exciting hope he had was that somehow, magic would help him discover his mysterious past. He wouldn’t stop trying until he found out.

First Instance of Magic: Richard was once again being harassed, but while his bully was walking away, he felt a sudden urge to fight him, he grabs him by his backpack to pull him back, but that’s all he had to do- at his touch, the backpack had caught fire.
