Sera Melbourne
Physical Description: Sera Melbourne is a witch, standing at exactly 4 foot 11, with wavy, mid back-length medium brown hair and light blue eyes. Her heart-shaped face is littered with freckles, covering her forehead, nose bridge, cheeks and her chin. She has a tiny, very faint scar on her forehead, acquired from accidentally coming into contact with the corner of a dining table when she was five years old. Because of general clumsiness as a child, she has a myriad of other small scars on her arms and legs that have not been healed via magic, due to her status as a half-blood.
Mental Description: Sera's mental description is suitably healthy. She's had no major childhood incidents, aside from witnessing the passing of a grandparent from her muggle side, whom suffered from dementia for most of Sera's life. Otherwise, she was quite popular amongst her peers in primary school for her calm and patient temperament, and teachers found her easy to instruct.
Biography: Sera's life prior to Hogwarts can be summed up as average- for a half-blood wizard, anyway. Her parents have chosen to live in a suburban neighborhood, white picket-fence, two kids and a family pet. There is no particular reason for this other than her father (wizard born) finding love with her muggle mother, and wanting to keep her life easy. Sera grew up around a couple of wizard items and concept, so of course she isn't completely ignorant of wizard society. Her father brings home potions sometimes when standard muggle medications don't seem to work fast enough, but honestly, Sera is better acquainted with the muggle world than the wizard world. She has a brother older than her by two years who has never experienced an incident of accidental magic before, and thus never received his letter to Hogwarts. Since her first instance of magic, however, things between them have been... tense. They aren't very close for two siblings.
First Instance of Magic: Accidental, wandless magic first occurred for Sera when she was five years old- specifically, right after she hit her head against the dining table and received her scar. Her mother quickly rushed into the dining room once Sera began wailing from the pain and for her parents attention, startling when one of the lightbulbs burst just above Sera's head. This instance, her parents knew, was not just a coincidence, and perhaps indicated a reflection of Sera's wizard heritage.
