Appearance: A boy smaller than most, Jaune has bright brown eyes, pale skin and blond hair so blond you'd think it's yellow. Most of the time he's seen wearing a very ruffled and messy uniform and of course his bright grin.
Personality: Jaune is a bubbly person, although a bit dim at first. His blidning enthusiasm for all things. Always approaching everyone and everything with a blinding grin. His odd patchwork of knowledge extends from muggle biology to how to use dice in Dungeons and Dragons.
Biography: Jaune's story starts with his mother Aurélie, a feisty french librarian who moved to England searching for a new start at life. And his father David, a college professor who happened to be attracted to her feistiness and more. After getting married, they soon gifted the earth with a child. The child was born in Christmas day after hours or labor, they gazed at the child's amber eyes. Jaune's great-grandmother made sure she was there to be one of the first ones to take a look. "He has your eyes" she jokingly tells David.
Growing up he's spent most of his time in Normandy, France with his mother and her mother. David spent his time back in England to continue his work in zoology. Often his mother would take him out to a carefully cultivated field of dandelions. near his grandmother's cottage. And she'd sing him the songs her husband sing to her...
First Instance of Magic: Now Aurélie grew up listening to the tales of her grandmother, who talks about her ancestors often. Though she brushed her stories of wizards and magic as simple stories. All that would change when at the age of 10, Jaune's great-grandmother hands him an ancient looking stick in her stay at their apartment in London. At least, it was a stick to him, "Go ahead, give it a wave" she commands him. Her daughter intervened, "Grandma it'll never work, not for you, not for my mother, and not for me. Give it up, don't give the boy any ideas-"
KA-BLAM!
Unfortunately for her and her bookshelf Jaune's curiosity took over and in a flurry of light reduced it to splinters and pages. A wave of silence fills the room. David fixes his glasses. Aurélie stares at the child in perplexity. Jaune's mouth falls open in shock. The silence is soon broken by the joyful cackling of his great-grandmother, "AHA, I knew it!" Her daughter was simply in shock, "what- how?" She stuttered, struggling to comprehend the situation.
While the house recovered from the shock...somewhere in a tower far, far away...a quill magically floated up from it's ink pot and wrote, "Jaune Willard Basset" onto a book...
