Physical Description:
Cassandra is on the taller side for an eleven-year-old girl, standing at a height of slightly over 150 cm. She wears her dark, straight hair at chin length, parted neatly down the middle. She has relatively large, dark brown eyes and pale skin.

Biography:
Cassandra grew up as the only child of a single mother. She never knew much about her father, just the occasional hint dropped by her mother, scraps of information which she salvaged and tried to form into a coherent picture: she was the product of a passionate but short-lived encounter in Romania, with a local man named Corvin. When Corvin disappeared without notice after only a few days spent together, Cassandra's mother returned to England, only to discover that she was with child.
Her mother always did her best to make sure Cassandra's needs were accounted for, keeping her reasonably well-fed and well-dressed. Nonetheless, in every aspect beyond the basic necessities, her lifestyle was erratic. For as long as Cassandra could remember, her mother struggled to hold down a job or even to settle down in general, leading them to move house distinctly more often than most people. Cassandra tried to support her as much as she could, but struggled with the fact that she could never really feel rooted in any one place, becoming increasingly hesitant to try to make new friends or feel at home in anticipation of soon having to move on once more.

Mental Description:
Possibly as a means of compensating for the lack of stability in her life, Cassandra developed a strong desire for things to be in order. She prefers the world as predictable as possible, takes great care to keep herself neat and always makes sure to have a plan. When things don't go as she expects them to, she's easily stressed and anxious. Her insistence on following the rules and her tendency to stay quiet may lead others to assume she's boring, but the rare few who manage to get to know her well will testify that Cassandra can be surprisingly passionate when presented with the right topic. She loves observing the world around her, is particularly interested in science, and will spend hours on end studying space and nature.
Generally, Cassandra is a kind and supportive person - it would never occur to her to deliberately hurt anyone. However, she feels somewhat distant from other people and is easily overwhelmed in social situations.

First Instance of Magic:
Inexplicable things started happening around Cassandra from a very young age, but most of these instances went unnoticed to a certain extent, easily explained away as a trick of the light or as ordinary clumsiness. The first instance of magic that made it glaringly obvious that Cassandra was different from her Muggle peers was at the age of seven, when Cassandra's mother took her to the local library for the first time. As the young girl stood staring at the shelves in awe, overwhelmed and fascinated by the sheer amount of available knowledge, wishing she could read all of them at once, several of the books closest to her suddenly dislodged themselves from their spots and fell at Cassandra's feet, as though asking to be chosen by her. Frightened, she ran to her mother, who tried to soothe and comfort Cassandra even though she herself was shocked by this seemingly impossible occurrence. Even though she chose not to mention this to her daughter, the mother could not help but feel reminded of Cassandra's father, who had also seemed to make inexplicable things happen when she wasn't looking. Everything only began to make sense upon Cassandra's acceptance into Hogwarts, which led them to assume that the girl's father must have been a wizard as well.
