The written history shows that the ancestors of the Mace family were crusader knights who discovered magic in their blood in the siege of Jerusalem during the military expedition so called the Holy War. At first they have considered themselves as damned and they have secluded themselves from everyone after the reactions from other men. But after they have met with other people who share the magic in their blood as well, they have adapted in the magic world. The family has lived in the Stretford Mansion in Manchester for many generations since their move from Normandy took place. Marcus was borned as the only child of his parents in the family mansion as well. He has been raised by his parents and grandparents as his tutors by listening to tales of his great ancestors or studying with them about general information. He always wanted to grow to be a legendary duelist like his ancestors. The Mace Family has produced many aurors and knights in its history. Many of them were famous and successful duelists who participated in many duel tournaments. Marcus has been dreaming to become a great duelist as well.
First Instance of Magic: A year ago before he received the Hogwarts letter, Marcus was at a Quidditch match with his father and family friends. While watching the game from stands he got angry due the team which he supports was getting behind in scores. In the moment of anger his fists has produced small flames caused his own robe to start burning. His father quickly stopped the incident before it would turn into a trouble.
