Physical Description: Dark skin displaying his African descent, Lucian is rather tall for his age; standing around 177 cm (5.8ft), the remaining factor to display himself being part giant. Typically wearing hoodies or clothing for cold temperatures even during hot summer days. It varies from long black jeans to grey sweaters. His favorite hoodie that he wears frequently is orange with a black jack-o-lantern smile on the front.
Mental Description: Lucian is rather a serious individual for his age, sometimes incapable of taking a joke from others. A rule follower who can get on others nerves, but is willing to let things slide if the means justify the end. He’s typically hard to read some days, and believes loyalty and trust are extremely important to uphold. If he were to lose trust in someone, then they’d have an easier chance transfiguring a fish into a tortoise the size of a whale than regaining it from him. He can be reasoned with, but his serious nature and attitude sometimes intimidates other students from even speaking with him. More of an introvert, sticking to himself studying and being one with nature. He rarely ask for help and prefers to involve people to a minimum if it can be done. Despite all of it though, being called a friend by him means you can rely and expect the best help anyone is willing to offer. If you’ve earned his friendship, he’ll be there even in the worst of times or moments of breaking rules. Typically to scold you once the drama has died down and mumble a couple words as he treads away. He enjoys and loves to interact with animals too, sometime more than people. The best things to keep in mind about him is he will most likely be brutally honest with you and thinks others should be capable of handling their own problems on their own.
Biography: Lucians family wasn’t something he was proud to face or speak highly of. Having older and younger siblings who shined in various subjects; rewarded and spoiled by his parents for their born talents. Lucian on the other hand wasn’t born with talent, he was nothing but effort. The underdog of the family, pushing himself and despising his brothers and sisters as the middle child. He wasn’t forgotten or neglected, he just wasn’t praised as often. He had his moments, but there was always someone else to catch the eye of the crowd. He’d often be seen in his families garden, only to sneak off towards the forest behind the hedges to experience the world rather than study it with just his eyes and brain. Climbing, navigating, and experimenting the world the best he could. While he studied the world of both magic and muggles, he couldn’t help but feel that magic was something that shouldn’t be relied on. Rather, Lucian felt feelings closer to relying one’s own skill rather than look for the approval or skill of others.
First Instance of Magic: Traveling through the dense forest located behind his home. Lucian gave chase to a deer he had been keeping watch and studying for the past few weeks. At the age of 9, he already understood his place in his family. Finally tired of the constant diagrams he drew and the notes he took about the creature, he honestly really just wanted to pet the creature. Having left berries he witnessed it feasting on he approached slowly, but the snap of a twig resulted in the timid beast running. While his opportunity had snuck away in an instant, Lucian wasn’t one to give up on a motive or goal. He gave chase. Brushing of branches, kicking of leaves, he put all his strength in each step. He tripped, with a sudden realization causing tears to already form in his eyes. He cursed in his mind, rage filling his throat as a he yelled in frustration after falling. He faced the direction of the deer, certain it had escaped but he was actually in disbelief. A cage. A cage of leaves, mud, stone, and vines had formed. Inside the creature stood, still afraid and shaking in fear with little clue as to how the cage had formed. Lucian was also skeptical of it’s appearance. He believed someone was around and had done it, but looking around there was only himself and the spooked deer. He approached slowly, and broke one of the branches that acted as a bar to keep the animal inside. He stepped away, allowing the deer to free itself. It felt unfair, it felt like the magic he conjured was a cheat to the effort he had committed; the observations, the berries, the approach, and the chase. It didn’t feel accomplishing.
