Physical Description:

Despite being a mix of Scottish and Italian, Caitriona ended up with far more of the former's features. Namely, her blonde hair and blue eyes were both inherited from her father's side of the family. She has sandy-toned skin that will neither tan nor burn but, rather, redden when exposed to the sun for too long. Her stature is average for a girl of her age: 4'10 with a bit of baby in her cheeks and belly. Caitriona has a round face and features. Her nose is small and points upwards and her lips are narrow but full. She has doe eyes that are framed by straight eyebrows which do not move much no matter her emotion. Her ears are distinctively pointed in such a way that other children would compare her visage to that of an elf or a fairy.

Caitriona has a polished sense of style for an eleven-year-old. She is a habitual outfit planner so every combination she puts on is thoughtfully considered and paired with jewelry and accessories. She also loves messing around with different hairstyles and braids.

Mental Description:

The first impression one might have of Caitriona "Cai" Dewine is that she's rather quiet for a girl of her age. It is not that she doesn't speak. The 11-year-old girl can be quite talkative when surrounded by the right sort of people. She simply isn't loud in the same way that some of her classmates are: running through the halls, screaming at each other, calling out in class. She would like to consider herself mature for her age. (One could also call her snobbish but that's aside the point.)

Caitriona prides herself in her values and their unchanging permanence. (She's a stubborn one if I might say so myself.) A strong commitment to peacekeeping has gotten her this far in life. Hence, she intends to continue in that way until... well, forever. The same goes with her commitment to her friends, which is second place in her hierarchy of importances. Next comes family, and then excitement.

Cai has the makings of a strong leader but lacks the desire to take charge. The 11-year-old's greatest ambitions include spending time with her friends, collecting chocolate frog cards, and not failing her first year of Hogwarts. She pays attention in class for the sake of not disappointing her family but she can usually be found towards the back of the room daydreaming idly.

If asked, Caitriona would not claim to have an affinity towards neither adventure nor trouble. She follows the rules for the most part (unless she deems it a "very minor rule" which is more often than one might think.) Nevertheless, she attempts to stay on the good side of the law at Hogwarts. Could she be coorced into some antics? Perhaps... One must try in order to find out.

Biography:

Caitriona was born in the small village of Pencaitland, Scotland. She was the first and only child of Belladonna Amato. Yes, that Belladonna. The well-known lead singer from the 90s wizarding band Quaffle Kerfuffle had finally settled down in a sleepy town in central Scotland. It was not her first choice of residences but it was the location of her her husband's estate and, as a half-blood without a manor, she went along with it. Alistair Dewine liked his privacy. That was the reason he liked his vine-covered manor in the middle of nowhere and also the reason he worked with the Department of Secrets. He enjoyed his work so much that he buried himself in it.

For a majority of Caitriona's childhood, it was rare that he was actually in his much-cherished manor. It was usually occupied by Caitriona, her mother, and a few house staff who did the errands for the family. (Alistair had a soft spot for house elves and did not wish to employ any.) However, there were almost always a few sisters of Belladonna routinely staying for a week or so with Caitriona's cousins as well. (That was how she began to be called Cai. Although the Italian side of her family had been living in England for years they still could not get the pronunciation of the traditionally Scottish name correct.) Her mother's side of the family was extensive so there were essentially always guests and cousins to play with.

First Instance of Magic:

Caitriona's first instance of magic was heavily anticipated. As the only child of two wizarding parents, magical abilities were expected. It was confirmed on the 7th of November, 2018 when she was 5 years old. For once, her father was home and his side of the family had all decided to visit at once, causing a large, pureblood-style banquet feast. In order to be polite she had been told to clear her whole plate. However, the casserole in front of her appeared to be made of tubeworms. Absolutely disgusting. (She had been told that it was eggplant but the preparation looked suspicious...)

Caitriona picked at the "tubeworms," as she looked around to see if anyone was watching her. The young girl took a deep breath as she brought her fork to meet her lips. Just as she was about to take a bite, the eggplant worm slipped off of her fork and began to slither towards the center of the table. Her grandmother let out an ear-splitting shriek as Caitriona's dinner came alive and began to spread.

The worms detransformed as quickly as they had awakened and clumps of eggplant casserole covered the entire tablecloth. The entire table had their eyes on the 5-year-old girl. It looked like Caitriona would be in trouble...
