Physical Description: Rachel Greenford is an 11-year-old dark-haired girl, whose hair seems to have a life of its own with all her activities. It frames her heart-shaped face, giving way to bright blue eyes. Freckles dust her cheeks and her small, button-like nose.

Mental Description: Rachel gives off the impression of being an extrovert to most people she meets. She is very social and empathetic, sharing the feelings of others as if their pain were hers to bear; this leaves her open to potential heartache if those around her are not happy. Her loving nature is very transparent to the world around her, for she loves without condition and expresses herself without hesitation, often wearing her heart on her sleeve. She continues to take life's journey optimistically and enthusiastically: curious about the world and ready for a new adventure. She values her relationships very highly, openly being loyal to those she loves.

Biography: Rachel was born into a warm, tight-knit Muggle family. She grew up on the coastline of North Devon, England; therefore, her childhood was filled with discovering secret coves and forming good friendships within her small community. Rachel is the youngest, and she has two older brothers who have been quite protective yet caring towards her. With her parents operating local businesses that cater to tourism, Rachel's brothers often took on a caretaking role for her while their parents ran the family business. When Rachel's magic first came to light, her family was accepting but immediately curious about the new world that Rachel was trying to understand.

First Instance of Magic: Rachel's first accidental magic occurred a week before her eleventh birthday. On one of those sunny summer afternoons, she played with her brothers near the banks of the East Lyn River in Lynmouth. They had gone on one of their many adventures to a secluded spot where the river opened into a small pool surrounded by mossy rocks and beautiful overhanging trees. Rachel was trying to skip stones across the water, something her brothers had done forever and continued challenging her, but she had yet to conquer. This was her third try at getting a rock to skid across the top of the water. She was more or less mimicking the movements of her brothers mindlessly. However, on Rachel's third flick of the wrist, the stone sailed across the water, skipped to the other side of the pond, and smashed a large moss-covered rock in two. Her brothers exchanged confused glances but quickly wrote it off as the wind being the reason the stone hit the rock "just right" for it to break in two. She felt that there was much more to what happened, haunting her until a representative came to Rachel and her family to discuss Hogwarts and the Wizarding world and invited her to attend a new school in the fall.
