Appearance
PersonalityAlways seen in casual clothes, often with some dirt smudged somewhere, Atticus looks a bit older than his actual age, often being mistaken for 13 or so at the age of 11, he is 150cm (4"11') tall, roughly 35kg(77lbs) in weight. He has brown hair, often styled for utility to keep it out of his face, he has considered cutting his hair shorter, to the dislike of his Mum, he has dark brown eyes that match his hair but compliment his olive skin.
HistoryAtticus' entire being at this age revolves around Magical Creatures, it is almost to the level of a mild obsession, he read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them like it's a fantasy novel he couldn't be more engrossed in, instead of the reference material it was written to be. He was a sweet boy, he would always go out of his way to help another person, even if it was to his detriment at times.
He wasn't the best at social cues if there was something else on his mind, occasionally talking about something like a breed of dragon his father had handled recently when the person he had been talking to clearly couldn't care less. He had a large heart and a large knowledge of magical creatures, it was often the humans that confused him most.
First Instance of MagicAtticus didn't know if he fitted in with the Drake family name. He loved animals sure, which did fit in with the Dragon Breeder lifestyle they held. But the Drakes were long lines of Slytherins, and as Atticus' first year of Hogwarts approached him, he wasn't sure if he wanted to don the green tie.
The Drakes were very pure purebloods, as much as that seems self-evident. Two very long lines of pure wizarding blood, long lines of specifically Slytherin Blood, including his older brother Ulysses who is one year older.
Nowadays they aren't too bothered about "marrying into your own purity", it just so happened that it had continued that way. His parents, whilst being lovely, felt uncomfortably proud of their heritage to Atticus, who was a lot more humble in comparison, he found blood purity a peculiar thing, a thing that shouldn't separate people. But when he was dressed up in some fancy dress robes and semi-forced to partake in an event his Mum had made him go to, which would only become more and more frequent as he grew older, he couldn't help but feel like he just wanted to escape, claustrophobic even.
Perseus Drake, his father, wasn't easy to anger per se, but if you did, you should probably find some shelter quickly. He was the Dragon Tamer, Breeder, Catcher, whatever title you would want to give him about dragons. This was one of the reasons why Atticus got on so much better with his Dad than with his Mum, he had the same love for animals, although Atticus' dream wasn't purely dragons.
He dreamed of owning a magical animal rescue and rehabilitation centre. It was a lofty dream for an 11-year-old, but he was determined about it, his love of magical creatures and animals in general had been strong his entire life, often requesting that the family be a lot more gentle with throwing the gnomes over the fence, worrying it may hurt them.
His mother, Beatrice Rose, was a lot more posh, she would think about every word she was planning on saying long before she would say it, you couldn't trip up Beatrice in a battle of wits. Believe it or not, it was Beatrice that Atti would be more scared of. It had been Beatrice who had homeschooled the boys prior to their Hogwarts Letter.
When Atticus was a toddler, around 2 or 3 years old, he had been playing with this enchanted wooden car, if you pushed it, it would whiz around the room and come back to you in a circle as big as the room would allow. It was quite a large circle in this instance as Atticus was sat in the centre of the front room in the Drake Household. The instance happened when Ulysses, his older brother by 1 year, stood in the pathway of the circle, the car gently bumping his ankles and stopping the circle, standing still on the far side of the room. This made young Atti quite frustrated, as it meant he had to walk over and retrieve it. In that moment of anger, the roots of his hair and the skin on his face turned a scarlet red, burning bright for a handful of seconds before it faded away.
