Physical Description: Jessie has a chubby face set in an even frame. Rich blue eyes adorn her like gems. They match her dirty blonde hair cut in a precise bob with blunt bangs. Had this been the eighteenth century instead of the twenty-first, she would have looked killer in frilly dresses and capelets. Instead, her tastes are more modern: luxury brand skirts, shorts, shoes and more. The price tag itself is magical.

Mental Description: To put it kindly, Jessie is someone who was born privileged and knows it. She was a special child to her parents. In return for high standards, especially in a rigidly class-based society, her desires were always met. She has developed a self-confidence that straddles the line between arrogance and elegance. But she never intends to be malicious even as she counters anyone perceived as disrespectful. She is, after all, a child in a strange world.

Biography: In the era of Cool Britannia with its bright, catchy alternative rock, the Kingsburys' Aberdeen-based computer business made them wealthy. They were parvenus and proud of it. Against the drab sensibilities of the old establishment, they were modish. One facet of this was a belief in mysticism—the stuff of tarot cards, magic stones and alternative medicine. But in time they came to replace the very people they were mocking.

Jessie was their third attempt to have a child. State-of-the-art care and a fortune that would make any commoner weep brought them a healthy baby. She has been favoured as the heir. A veritable silver spoon fed her from the start. Besides her mum and dad, there was Rodrigo, a Spanish butler, who acted as her daily caretaker and grandfather. Her friends were of a similar status. You could call them Scotland's finest. It created a bubble that separated Jessie from anything outside this gilded world.

Her 11th birthday was not meant to integrate her sudden transition into a wizard child. Admittedly, there were signs of Jessie's talent. On days when she was very emotional, objects would move without rhyme or reason. Nevertheless, her parents were supportive of a move to Hogwarts, given her interest in the supernatural.

First Instance of Magic: A mug floated up and then down when she was crying at the age of nine.
