History
Born and raised in Adare Ireland, the beginnings of Deirdre's life were peaceful, if not a little odd. She was born to wizard parents but raised by her uncles with a few of her other magically gifted cousins. In their little messy household, they were introduced to whatever wonders of the wizarding world Uncle Gilroy or Uncle Liam could safely show them.

Though her cousins all showed equal interest in such matters, it was Deirdre who caught the most attention from her caretakers. Initially, she didn't actually seem to have any knack for spells or connections to fantastical beasts and thus lost enthusiasm as it seemed more apparent that she wasn't meant for that kind of life. Determined, her uncles wanted to find some facet of magic she could undoubtedly work with in the future and kept up trying to help her. She complied of course and soon discovered that the power was within her, but not without a cost. Due to a rather violent miscasting of what would have been a harmless spell, she was left physically scarred at the tender age of 9. Miraculously, this didn't deter her! But instead re-instilled her curiosity and vigor to learn.

Appearance

A frail lass, Deirdre is a lithe individual despite her very real appetite, appearing bony under her fairly ill-fitting clothing. Pale skin smattered in dense freckles, indicative of her nationality, is suddenly interrupted around the underside of her chin and halfway up her right cheek by a very visible scar. The scar travels down her neck and onto her chest some ways, but she covers what she can with scarves and handkerchiefs. Her eyes are such a dark shade of blue that one might assume they're black, and her short hair is very straight and kept in tiny pigtails, but it still stands out just a bit. Its many shades of dark and bright red give it a fiery appearance, with near blonde highlights doing nothing to tone it down.

Personality

Deirdre, though normally seen in passing with a frown or a rather gloomy expression, isn't as sad as one would expect! She is actually very generally upbeat and friendly despite being somewhat shy. In fact, if one were to spend a moment or two with her, they would find she makes a wonderful shoulder to lean on (even if it is a little bony)!
Even though she's quite the optimist, it isn't all too hard to bring her down. Shes accepted her flaws (both physical and mental) for the most part, but it still bothers her to have them pointed out, as it would anyone. She may bounce back from having little bouts of self-doubt, but don't be entirely comforted by her quick recovery. Everyone can act if they work at it.
