Mental Description:

Anastasia is a cheeky girl - her sarcastic demeanor has gotten her in trouble with teachers and other such figures of authority on occasion, but her wit has proven useful when confronting bullies, whether she's the one being antagonized or if she's defending a fellow student.

While she has a penchant for snarky retorts, she has a sunny disposition which many of her classmates find infectious.

Despite her carefree demeanor, she's a capable, hard-working student that takes her classes seriously, and if she's mastered a concept, will work with a struggling classmate.

Biography:

Owing to her unusual last name, Anastasia (or simply 'Stasia to her friends) is often mistaken for being a half-blood, but she's actually Muggle-born. This tends to work to her advantage as she rarely gets teased by blood-supremacist students, but she won't hesitate to step in and defend a fellow Muggle-born student if they're being harassed.

Nothing irritates her more than bullying. Despite her slight frame, she's been known to get her hands dirty and deal with bullies physically if she is unable to reason with them verbally.

Anastasia is an ethnically-English witch (often described as 'cute' by adults, and 'pretty' by fellow students) with a fondness for spicy food (particularly Latin American and Thai), playing classical music on the violin and piano, and Maine Coon cats.

Her parents are Sharon and Phillip Cherrywine, owners of a small bakery. She has a 9-year old brother named Othniel, who does not have Anastasia's magical gift. Othniel is a bit more physically active than Anastasia, as he enjoys playing association football and rugby.

Overall, Anastasia has a warm relationship with her immediate family. Phillip calls Anastasia his "princess" and Sharon affectionately calls her "'Stasia love". She and Othniel do tease each other from time to time but they genuinely do love one another.

She has a small circle of friends from school, the closest of whom is Caroline Guthrie. They've been best friend since they were six years old and on occasion, both girls' parents have had to physically drag them home after spending many an evening summer hour together. Unlike Anastasia, Caroline is quiet, introverted, and deferential - she's perfectly fine with following Anastasia's lead. She both admires and reviles Anastasia's cheeky nature, as it's gotten both girls in AND out of trouble numerous times.

Anastasia is not generally seen as a troublemaker, but she has on two occasions been to see the headmaster for smartmouthing a teacher at Tetley Academy, a primary school for girls.

The first time was when she was seven years old, when the teacher asked Anastasia a question: "If Pamela had eight chocolate biscuits, then had eleven more chocolate biscuits, what did she have altogether?" Anastasia responded with a cheeky, "I don't know for sure, but I do know she had a really nasty tummyache."

The second time was when she was ten, when she was asked to read a passage about the late Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole. "Why would someone stick a pole in a wall and name it Robert?" she replied sarcastically.

Despite her penchant for cheekiness, most of her teachers considered her a good student who got high marks in her classes far more often than not. She did have a mutually antagonistic relationship with her physical education teacher, Mister Brooks, who often mocked her slight frame and lack of athleticism. In turn, she made snide comments about his "ugly beergut" and "lack of a missus at home". He only begrudgingly passed her as she had passed the annual fitness exam in front of a board at the end of her last term.

Anastasia's fondest memories are traveling with her family. Most years, they take a holiday within the British Isles, but when she was eight, she visited Italy during her summer break. She in particular enjoyed the gondola rides in Venice, and trying tiramisu in Naples.

First Instance of Magic:

Two years ago, she was riding on her bicycle with her friend Caroline. An small kitten distracted Caroline, causing her to swerve and fall off her bike. Although not hurt badly, she sustained several cuts and bruises.

Anastasia held Caroline's elbow to review the damage, but as she held it, the bleeding stopped, and the cuts and scrapes had fully healed within minutes.
