Physical Description: A plain yet masculine face with an angular jawline and striking sage-colored eyes. Dark auburn hair that falls to the shoulder in heavily layered waves and frames the face with curtain bangs. Shorter, lighter build than the average person, with fair skin and a graceful disposition. Decorated with many ear-piercings and always wears shoes with heels and natural colors.

Mental Description: A noble character who prefers to keep to themselves but remains helpful in the presence of others. Has a particular fondness for animals, travelling, and old houses. Struggles with lack of time and connecting emotionally with others.

Biography: The younger daughter of two emotionally unavailable yet very accomplished and ambitious healers. An older and highly accomplished sister who has little time for family. Childhood residence being a decorated old house with several floors and a large garden with a tool shed turned cat hotel for neighborhood strays.

First Instance of Magic: During a cold September evening when Coraline was around 5, she had been hiding among the abandoned boxes in the attic, reading her mother’s old childhood novels, when she grabbed at a disgruntled, clay cookie jar that was perched on a dusty pile of books. Her fingertips grazed a beady surface that went “crunch” before a sour and sick smell wafted into the dusty air. Coraline looked in the jar, and revealed cluster of ladybugs, some of whom had been crushed on impact. In a frenzy, Coraline tossed the jar to the side, where it crash and rolled across the wooden attic floor, sending the beetles flying into the air. Simultaneously, each ladybug turned into a red bead, and scattered down across the floor.
