Matthew James has dirty blonde hair, he wears round glasses which he's constantly pushing up his nose to stop them from falling down. He's rather short for his age but at least has a particularly pleasant face to look at.

He's incredibly bookish and can be found constantly reading in any opportunity he can get. He has a passion for potion making and the history of the wizarding world. He prides himself on his good judgment of thinking, he has a ready mind which he often exercises through a game of wizards chess and also quidditch, he likes coming up with new strategies.

He grew up in a wizarding household in Bidbury, England. In his childhood he was surrounded by magic constantly, he was homeschooled by his parents before receiving his hogwarts letter, teaching him the basics of the wizarding world. He was an avid chocolate frog card collector and often traded with his friends and siblings, his favourite card being that of Gaspard Shingleton as he was his idol in potion making. He spent much of his free time flying in the garden on his broom with his siblings, he found himself being a great supporter of the quidditch team Puddlemere United.

His first instance of magic was unexpectedly levitating a copy of Goshawk's Guide to Herbology for about two minutes and thirty seconds.
