Appearance: Even though Florence is Welsh, he gets his complexion from his mother who's family migrated from central Africa decades before he was born. He gets hazel eyes from his dad and curly hair from his mom, the curls looser than his mother's but still something he had to learn to tame.

Personality: personality wise, Florence is a calm person and hates conflict. He goes out of his way to try to find a solution where no one has to compromise in a way that they are not comfortable with. He likes to sit in silence and think more than he does to talk through his feelings, because organizing them in his mind helps him more than getting them out.

First use of magic: the first time he used magic, Florence was only nine years old and really didn't know what he had done. He knew already about the lucky occurrences when he needed something to go his way and his gut feeling that affected his decision making when he was in a dangerous situation but one day he had been fascinated by a candle that his mother came home with, the flame bending normally but pretty nonetheless. He had just thought in his mind what if I can make it move or to grow so he wished it had been longer so it could curl more, when it did get longer. He didn't have much time to think about this because his father came and put him back to bed.

He didn't realize it was an instance of magic, but looking back he was excited that the flame grew, even if its seems that his father was off put around him since that night.

General backstory: Lorance was raised by his mother and father in Welsh, and has no siblings. His mother was a nurse and his father was in finance. Their lives were fairly normal Lorance went elementary school and didn’t fit in quite well but did make some friends and had their own little group of misfits. He got along well with his peers but they kept a distance from him but he didn’t mind so much since he had his own friends. Lorance did face some bullying but what seemed like great luck and coincidence he out maneuvered them with suddenly turning a corner and the bully’s lost track or him having a funny feeling and making a last ditch decision that turned out well in the end. He and his family had a pretty peaceful life together, besides slight bumps that came from his father, but Florance did his best to ignore them. He was raised completely muggle before he knew about hogwarts, and was applying for middle schools just before he was accepted.

He is very excited to go to the magic school, as is his mother, though his father seems standoffish with the whole idea
