Physical Description: Melanie Norkam is a muggle-born girl. She has long, straight, ginger hair, and blue eyes with long eyelashes. Her skin is pale and her face is slightly freckled. She is 5 foot and 1 inches tall, and she is very skinny. She has a significantly large mole on the back of her neck, just beneath where her hairline ends. She has plump lips and a sharp but slim nose. She always has her fingers and toes freshly painted, usually of the colour white. She noticeably puts a lot of effort into her appearance, shown by her carefully plucked eyebrows and her lips always freshly coated in a layer of lip balm.

Mental Description:
Melanie is a very serious person. It takes a lot to make her laugh, and she is known to have judgemental tendencies, especially towards people she considers to be too ‘Loud’ or ‘Attention seeking’. She is very appearance focused, the way she looks matters to her more than anything else does. She will very openly express her disdain for people and/or things that she does not enjoy, having no hesitation to tut out loud or roll her eyes at such things. She does tend to judge people who have less money than her, leading her to prefer to be around people who she’d consider to be more in her ‘Class’. Considering her lack of sense of humour and severe aversion to people who are too overwhelming to be around, she does manage to keep a fair amount of friends. One may wonder if this is just due to her social standing though.

Biography: Melanie grew up in a very wealthy household. Born to muggles, Anette Elizabeth Norkam Nee Scarfield, and Johnathan Norkam, both coming from luxurious backgrounds themselves, this meant she was very spoilt growing up. And the fact she was an only child. She has a strained relationship with her Mother due to them never really seeing eye to eye on things, however, she is very much a Daddy’s girl. He would do absolutely anything for her. Her parents unfortunately did not raise her to have very good morals, therefore, the way she interacts with people is extremely showing of it. In general though, she is not a horrible person, she much prefers to keep herself to herself and will gladly silently judge people in her head instead as she does not enjoy confrontation. Some of her hobbies include, reading, singing, and playing the piano.

First Instance of Magic: Just a little over 2 years ago, on the 23rd of December 2021, when Melanie was newly turned 10, her first instance of magic happened, it came about very sudden and was unexpected due to both of her parents being muggles. One night Melanie awoke suddenly after having a nightmare that she was drowning in a lake. The moment she opened her eyes, suddenly a multitude of rain clouds appeared above her and they began to pour down on her. Her shrieks subsequently woke her parents and after lots of confusion throughout the whole family, including from Melanie herself. Melanie’s father, Jonathan, some days later, took her to see one of his wise friends who confirmed what we now know, Melanie is a witch. This came as a huge shock to both of her parents, her father handled it much better than her mother did, she made herself ill from how much disbelief she was in. Jonathan’s friend suggested Hogwarts to them both, as a school for Wizarding children. Jonathan was reluctant to send Melanie here, due to fear of her not fitting in due to being muggle-born but his friend reassured him that there are many other muggle-borns who attend the school too.
