Physical Description: Kaito is 5'0" with the beginnings of a lanky build. His light skin is freckly and his black hair is left curly and unkempt most of the time. He walks with a slouch and usually has his eyes trained on the ground ahead of him.

Mental Description: Kaito is quite introverted and a tad bit anti-authority. He's not going around planning revolts against the teachers, but he likes to do his own thing. At home, it was study, study, study. At Hogwarts... well, the desks are quite comfortable to sleep on. To strangers, he definitely comes off as cold and uninterested, and he's especially lackadaisical when he's unsure of what he wants to set his mind on. However, when he knows what he wants, Kaito will push himself to try and achieve it. And when he finds his people, he will fight for them fiercely. He also hates it when others try to control him and prefers to flee when faced with a fight or flight option. Being emotional doesn't come easy to him and he sure as heck wouldn't want others to see him break down. So he runs and pushes people away if they come poking around subjects he doesn't want to speak about.

Biography: Born to a young mother in Andover, Kaito has a lot to be thankful for. Others may not see it that way. Instead, they may pay attention to the lack of a father figure in his life, or the fact that he’s lived in a shabby-looking duplex since birth. They’ll try to point out that his mum’s working two jobs or how abnormal it is that he has to spend the night at the neighbor’s place if she has to work a double shift. Kaito knows it’s not the best living situation, but he’d rather tell those people to shove it instead of criticizing all his mother’s done for him. The woman keeps food on the table and gas in the tank while still having the time to actually be a mother. She plays the role of both parents successfully and always makes sure he has a warm bed and someone to tuck him in for the night if she can’t be there. Kaito’s hero is his mother and it’s because of her that he enjoyed his childhood, no matter how less fortunate people try to make them out to be.

Of all the hobbies that Kaito’s mother passed down to him, his favorite is dance. He loves it in every form, but especially ballet. When he was young, it was his dream to attend the Royal Ballet School in London and perform with them for the rest of his life. As he aged, he realized that he’d never be as talented at it as his mother was and if she couldn’t turn it into a career, he would have less than a zero percentage chance. So he took his studies seriously. He was on track to earn himself a scholarship at one of those fancy private schools in Andover. His whole life, Kaito’s worshipped his mother, and it was his dream to pay her back for everything she’d done for him. And to do that, he’d need good grades to get a good degree to get a good job. Nowadays, he wonders how well galleons will help her.

The day a teacher from Hogwarts showed up at his duplex, Kaito learned that he was a wizard. He doesn’t know if his long gone father is a wizard, or he’s just muggle-born as he’s recently learned it's called. And he still doesn’t know how to feel about taking off for the adventure of a lifetime while leaving his mother behind.

First Instance of Magic: On a night that his mother had to work a double shift, Kaito made his way over to the other home in the duplex and the elderly couple living there welcomed him in and sent him up to the room he'd become quite familiar with. After making himself comfortable for bed, he realized that he hadn't brought over his favorite chicken plushie from his and his mother's apartment. But he was too embarrassed to tell his caretakers about this because what nine year-old boy needed a stuffed animal for bed. So he curled up under the sheets and wrapped his arms around himself, trying and failing to ignore that empty feeling. Drifting in and out of sleep for a while, he suddenly awoke to find the plushie squished against his skin as he hugged it tightly. It had somehow just appeared in his hands! Kaito could find a rational explanation for most things, but not for this.
