Physical Description: Elara stands at 4 feet 9 inches, she is thin, pale, and her eyes are a greyish-blue hue. Her hair is bleach blonde and always tied back. She prefers darker clothes and enjoys a general "spooky" aesthetic, adorning gloves and spider hair clips. She tries to make sure not to go overboard in her goth-like fashion tastes, to not attract too much attention.

Mental Description: Elara is quiet, reserved, and generally apathetic. She won't initiate conversation and she won't hesitate to be blunt with whoever she decides to talk to her. She is not inherently malicious, but she is very judgemental of the people around her, one of her hobbies being people watching and delivering silent verdicts to them in her mind- she tends to form those verdicts on people's morality and actions rather than looks, she doesn't care for how other people dress. More so she is the type of person to watch you litter and will never forget that action until you "atone". Because of her looks and unshamed glaring, she can be hard to approach, and even harder to hold a conversation with, as she will be confused as to why anyone would want to talk to her, judging their apparent lack of awareness. Once you get past that shell however you can see her undying dedication to justice, magic, and her loyalty to the little connections she has.

Biography: Elara's home life was pretty average. Her parents were very supportive of her, even encouraging her dark sense of fashion, as they were happy to provide her with opportunities to express herself. Her school life was... lonely to say the least. Due to her unwillingness to start a conversation and her unapproachable aura, she never made any close friends. She didn't mind, however- her hobbies weren't inherently social (poetry, people watching, reading, etc), and if she wished for human connection, she felt comfortable relying on her parents. Elara is a half-blood, unbeknownst to her knowledge. Her father is part of the wizarding world, and knowing of the great dangers of magic, he and his wife decided to raise Elara purely as a muggle.

First Instance of Magic: Elara experienced magic not long before she received her letter. She was at school walking to her next class, her head in the clouds, when a teacher stopped her in her tracks and pointed to her skirt. Despite her wearing leggings underneath, he raised his voice to pointedly tell her she was violating the dress code. The teacher, agitated, led Elara to his classroom and began condescendingly lecturing her on following school rules, insulting her and her family to her face. This wasn't the first time this teacher had harassed her, his standards were either ridiculously high or he just had it out for her. Elara was pretty convinced it was the latter at this point. This can't be fair. It ISN'T fair- she was within the dress code and she knew it, HE knew it, he must just take some kind of pleasure in humiliating her specifically, lecturing her on her dark clothes, anti-social posture, her (according to him) neglectful parents. It's not true. And it's not fair. Not. Fair-. When Elara blinked away from staring daggers into the man, her eyes widened in shock as the man who was on the verge of screaming in her face 15 seconds ago, was now running in circles as his toupe had spontanuosly combusted into a bright sulfur flame. The teacher ran out of the classroom, and Elara found her herlself standing in place, her feet planted on the ground, staring after him for a good minute before she slowly began to take in her surroundings. All the flowers in the room had wilted down, their petals and leafs barely hanging on for dear life, everything past the stem had slouched down, fading to a pitch black. Elara takes a moment, then takes a breath, grits her teeth a few seconds in thought, staring down at the floor, then with what may be some forced bewildered resolve, turns to take her books and walk out to her next class, replaying the events in her head multiple times, her mind filled with confusion and uncertainty.
