Amaranth Caerwick was a wild witch even by her family's standards. The seventh of seven, not only was she the youngest, she was also precocious - and a bit of a troublemaker. While reporting for one of the bigger Wizarding World papers, she hit it off with someone, but that someone was not who she expected.

He was an accountant Muggle named Scott from Edinburgh, and he was the opposite of everything Ranthy was. Her parents were appalled, but intrigued, and Ranthy - in true Caerwick fashion - ignored them and went on with life loudly.

Ingrid came squalling into the world almost a year after. She inherited her father's dark coloring, but her mother's - and by extension, the Caerwicks' - fire. Unafraid, unabashed, confident, and opinionated, it was evident that she was of the Caerwick stock. After the initial shock of having the first halfblood in the family, the Caerwicks eventually took to her, forgiving the tryst easily in the wake of a kid.

Ingrid grew to be of middling height for her age, with the usual willowy frame of a child used to playing in the street. She is somewhat girly, but that isn't to say she's not willing to get her hands dirty if there's something interesting afoot. She's a bit nosy, always interested in other people's business - even if she shouldn't be. The only child of her parents, she's not used to having to 'share', but she is fairly affable, given the street politics of living in Edinburgh.

While she knows that her mother is a witch, it seems that this has been something of an open secret, with her father not asking and her mother not telling.
