Mental Description: During first meetings, Balaam is incredibly stand-offish and even rude or cold, but it's only because he's shy. He's never actually mean to someone, and hates bullies, but he has trust issues and is afraid of people. Once people get to know him, he's actually bubbly and a bit crazy. Part if his bad social skills can be attributed to the fact that he hasn't had many friends, because of his adhd and autism (I have them both in real life.) Because of his feelings as an outcast and racism, he became drawn to punk. Despite his appearance, he's incredibly kind and will often forget his own wants for others. He's loyal to a fault, and has a strong sense of justice, and hates others being hurt. Usually. At the same time, he despises authority, mostly because he is a afro-latino immigrant child who lived in the projects of California with horrible police. He can be petty to a fault, and will allow himself to be harmed in order to get back at someone. He becomes easily obsessed with things that interest him and ignores everything else. He loves all forms of art, and would love to be a writer, in a band, some sort of entertainer, or a professional artist. He likes spooky looking things because he thinks they're cool, and especially loves making them into something silly and happy, because he thinks not everything is as they appear. He can be sensitive, and has serious anger issues, but often forgets how to be emotionally intelligent with other people and has to think about everything he says and does before doing them. When people become his friend for long, they will note how impulsive and clumsy he is, and will think he is stupid, but in reality, despite his lack of coordination and impulse-control, he is very smart and thinks about most things 3 steps before they happen. But even though he is intelligent, he doesn't care that much for studies, because he's naturally good at them. He instead focuses on things he likes and enjoys and puts all his effort into it. He loves being with people, but is oftentimes afraid and very quickly drained because of the effort it takes to act socially acceptable (cuz od the autism). He loves the ocean and everything sea relates, and has an obsession with sirens, who his parents (born in the Caribbean) warned him about. Has an unusual obsession with fire, monsters, spoders, and all things misunderstood. Loves reading and his favorite books are PJO. Favorite animals are bats and favorite color is orange.

Biography: His parents wnd he were both born in Trujillo, Honduras. At 2, they moved to the U.S to Oakland, California. There he lived in a poor neighborhood and went to an old public school where he actually exelled. His parents didn't have much money, though, and they didn't have much options for him to get better education. He became obsessed with the punk subculture at 9, and at 10 came out to his parents as gay (mostly questioning because this kid is 10.) At this time, his parents had contacted his aunt who lived in Limerick, Ireland near a good school, and were planning to send him away anyway. After this, they sent him away and he became bitter thinking it was because of his identity. He arrived at his aunts home in Ireland, and he was rude to her out of spite which she didn't tolerate. She wasn't accepting at all and when he began to be interested in witchcraft (mostly crystals and moonwater, which didn't work for him at all), she would drag him to church every Sunday and get him cleansed with holy water. After his magical accident and the hogwarts staff person came to his aunt personally, she promptly changed her opinion, while still thinking it was wrong. She went along with the process, begrudgingly, but promised to stay by his side because she had promised his parents.

First Instance of Magic: At 10, after being forced to go to church and be cleansed by holy water, Balaam grew angry and rebellious. Almost every time they approached him with the water, he would throw it and knock it over. Growing tired, the priest had him have hands behind his back. Magically, because of his anger, he caused the water to boil, and the priest dropped it, thinking it was a sign of God. Balaam thought it was his prayer to his own gods being answered. When he learned of his magical abilities from the Hogwarts staff, he became ecstatic and so interested in joining Hogwarts. He couldn't be happier about the existence of Magic. But the progression of his life and journey was exponentially fast, and processing everything is difficult for him.
