Physical Description: Mary has dark brown hair that reaches the bottom of her shoulder blades and hazel-colored eyes. She has pale ivory skin with freckles lightly dusting her cheeks and nose. She can usually be found wearing darker colors such as black, gray, blue, purple, and dark green and likes to have bows and hairbands. She is about 138 cm tall.

Mental Description: Mary is a creative and energetic young girl who struggles with perfectionistic tendencies, causing her to easily get frustrated if something is not going the way she would like. She likes to draw and read fantasy stories and enjoys helping people. Mary was diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia at a very young age; her parents never corrected it with magic due to a family tradition on her father's side that states interfering with a person's biology is a crime against the Titan Prometheus. (I understand the implications of having a character with neurodivergence; I chose to give her ADD and dyslexia as I have them myself, ensuring my portrayal of the character will be more accurate.)

Biography: Mary used to live in the Netherlands when she was younger with her parents, where they were considered one of the few still "pure" families. When she was four, she moved to the UK with her parents to Peterborough, into a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house decorated to be cozy and welcoming. Despite being an old pureblood family, they prefer to live modestly. She was raised in a closed community set up by other witches and wizards, with a small prep school for wizards in what used to be a Catholic church (now owned by another wizarding family). Here, the children were taught everything they needed to know, including reading, writing, math, English, etc. In addition to these subjects, they were also taught pureblood practices and etiquette. At home, Mary was taught Dutch so that she could still communicate with her other family members (aunts, uncles, grandparents) in their mother language.

First Instance of Magic: When Mary was seven, she was playing with a few other kids in her neighborhood. She was trying to climb a tree in a small park set in the middle of the neighborhood to retrieve a ball they had been throwing around. When she was almost at the second big branch she could sit on, she ended up slipping and falling out of the tree. (She was only about two meters off the ground; she would have been fine apart from some scrapes and bruises.) She closed her eyes, expecting to get hurt, but when she reached the ground, it felt like falling onto a bed or cushion. She opened her eyes to find that the grass had grown an insane amount to catch her fall. One of the other kids had run to get an adult. Mary was checked out by a medi-witch who lived in the community, and after a test, it was found that Mary had performed accidental magic. (The medi-witch made sure she didn't get hurt; don't worry.)
