Wren Sinclair is a delicate girl, only four feet tall, with flowing dark brown hair and a petite figure. Her eyes are dark green, and across her nose is a sprinkling of freckles. She tends to braid her hair, but will let it down if she feels particularly spunky that day.

Background: Although Wren’s mother, Sophia, is a pure-blood, her father, Joseph, is a muggle, which has led to a different childhood for Wren than that of most young wizards. She was born in Florida, is an only child, and has lived near her many cousins for most of her life. As a half-blood, she gets to experience the best of both the muggle (she knows them as no-majs) and wizarding worlds. Throughout her elementary years, Wren attended a private Christian school, and spend most of her weekdays in a muggle environment. On the weekend, however, she and her family would drive (her father, of course, does the driving) upstate to visit the wizarding side of the family. Sneaking out on older cousins’ broomsticks, trying (to no avail) to make magic come out of their wands, and baking many a magical treat with her grandmother were just a few of the things she got up to there. Her father is an American diplomat, and, although Wren resisted it, moved with his family to England the summer after Wren’s tenth birthday. Her mother attended Ilvermorny, and has long hoped that Wren would be sorted into Horned Serpent, her former house. However, she’s quite excited for Wren to attend Hogwarts, a very prestigious institution. Wren has spent a year in an English primary school, and so far she doesn’t have many friends. The prospect of living almost entirely in the wizarding world is sudden, and she doesn’t want to form any ties she can’t keep. She doesn’t know what to expect from Hogwarts, but she knows that if anything it’ll be exciting.

First Instance of Magic: It was a warm summer day in London, and Wren and her parents were strolling leisurely through the city. Her mother was trying to talk to her about what Hogwarts would be like, but Wren was hardly paying attention. In the back of her mind, even if she wouldn’t admit it to anyone else, she almost thought she would never receive her acceptance letter; she already was ten years old with no magic to speak of. Talk about a late bloomer; she was sure she was a squib. Suddenly, a biker shoved past her, and she lost her balance. She was falling, bracing for a collision… but it never came. She opened her eyes and found herself floating an inch above the ground. She shrieked. Whatever it was that had been holding her up seemed to have been startled by that, and she fell harmlessly to the ground. Her mother looked around tentatively, but in the busy street no one seemed to have noticed. Then she turned to her daughter with glee. “Honey, did you see that? You just did magic!” Wren gaped. “Wha- I DID?” Her father smiled, and patted her on the back. “Looks like you’ll make a fine young witch.”

Personality: Though in the past few months she’s been a tad more quiet than usual, Wren has a quirky side that shows up around those who know her well. She’s witty and sometimes gigglish, although to outsiders she seems like a shy, reserved girl. Unfortunately, this makes it hard for her to make many friends. Her best friends were her cousins, but since she moved it has become harder to stay in touch with them. She has a good memory, and doesn’t often write things down. This backfires on the rare occasion that she does forget something important. She enjoys art and writing.
